A little brain teaser sort of puzzle for y'all

A woman goes to a company to fill out a job application.  As the secretary looks it over, she says, oh we had someone apply yesterday with the same last name, same parents, and same date of birth.

That is my sister, said the woman.

So you are twins, said the secretary.

No, we are not, said the woman.

Explain.

The puzzle has no hidden facts.  They are sisters, born of the same parents.  No adoptions, no surrogate wombs, frozen embryos, other biotech.  I have heard many smart people grind mental gears over this, then self-administer forehead slaps when the answer occurs to them.

On the doorway entrance at the Park Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles the Golden Rule is quoted where it says to Treat Others the Same Way that You Want to be Treated. That is a great old hotel, with Angels looking out, it would be a fantastic spot for parties. And there is MacArthur Park there where people could have an out-door party and out-door bar, etc. You could have a concert at MacArthur Park if you want, etc. It is a great location. Los Angeles has some great spots that are just being neglected and unused, we need to clean up these great locations and we need to use them. And the Park Plaza Hotel would be a great spot for an Oscar Night Party for the stars, and also for a 4th of July party utilizing MacArthur Park, etc. It is a great location.

One of my favorite filmmakers was Elia Kazan, and he made a movie named "A Face in the Crowd" starring Andy Griffith. And in the movie Andy rises to the top, and then makes a fool of himself in public, and becomes a failure. So for me I see it as a lesson for actors, and for artists, if you become famous then they need to prepare for fame, and you need to know how to handle fame.

For me, I studied a lot of things, and one thing that I studied was Communication, and with Communication then there are many levels, there is you with another person, and then you with a small group, and then with a larger group, and then with mass communication, etc. All actors can benefit from studying mass communication, so they know how to communicate with the masses. And many stars hire experts in Communication to work as their Public Relations people, etc, I was friends with an old man who was a P.R. man for Frank Sinatra. Frank Sinatra had people on his pay-roll who were experts in Mass Communication so that he did not make a fool of himself like Andy Griffith in "A Face in the Crowd."

It takes a village to be a star like Frank Sinatra was, and like Elvis was, and like Shakira and Beyonce today, and Dolly Parton, it takes a village to be in show business.

Interesting word choice from the Swedes:

BREAKING NEWS
The 2024 Nobel Prize in Literature is awarded to the South Korean author Han Kang... She comes from a literary background, her father being a reputed novelist.

I realize the word has more than one definition, but.

Back when I was managing a dog kennel I was interested in Business, and I read Lee Iacocca's book on "Leadership." In the book Lee says that it is a blessing to be born poor. People who were born poor appreciate success more, and they appreciate having money more. Lee was grateful to be rich and successful. And then he did great things like helping to refurbish the Statue of Liberty, etc.

But, there are some key things, first of all, if one is born poor then one must not fall under the impression that one must remain poor, otherwise why bother to work to try to rise? A lot of the secret to the success of the American Dream is that people think they can succeed here, the psychological part is a huge part, you have to believe that it is possible to succeed if you work hard. People believe that if they work hard in America then they can succeed, so they go out and make it happen.

Italy has dreamers too, and Sophia Loren started out poor, and she is so grateful for success now because she started out poor. Italy is a great place. And Italy is the Christian Capital of the world, it is where the Vatican is. Plus they have the Cinecitta movie studio, etc.

Starting out poor does not mean that you need to suffer and stay poor, and it can be a blessing. The secret is to believe that you can succeed if you try, and then get out there and try. Then you gain a sense of accomplishment as you rise, and you appreciate success more.

I spent 3 years on my movie script getting a project ready to go, and before I did all of that hard work, without pay, I had to believe that it was worthwhile to put in the effort. If I did not think it was worth my time then I would not have even bothered. Living in Hollywood and training and studying helped to prepare me for writing my script, and I even tried to start a Production Company to produce it. And I almost succeeded, Hugh Hefner was going to put up the money to make my movie, Hef liked my script. I almost made it.

Now with the $750 Million that is coming to California for incentives to make movies and television shows, maybe I can get my project made or sold.

I had to believe it was possible to succeed in America, and I had to get out and do the work, and eventually it would be great to get this script made or sold and it would be nice to experience some wealth and success. And I would love to find a woman and have a kid, and buy a house in Malibu, etc. We will see what happens.

Salute,
