My dear madupont,

Speaking of humor...

Here's something very humorous...

It's something MrUtlely wrote about you over in Television Land.

It's got just the right satirical edge.

I admire MrUtley's writing very much... I hope you do too.

In Soprano-speak, I just wanna say: Ya tink you can fuckin' work any more fuckin' stereotypes and fuckin' narrow-mindedness into that fuckin' post, ya fuckin' fuck? I mean, what the fuck!!

Quick...send that burly guy over here...

The sooner the better...

If you send a woman, she'll just have to get in line...

Behind Mad, Frumpy and Nytempsperdoo...

They all want to spank my naughty fanny...

But my fanny belongs to Big Daddy...

dzimas --

I'm really surprised by how patronizing Bill is with reference to Obama.  Does Bill think people have forgotten how young and untried he was when he made his run for the White House?

I am too.  But, it seems Bill has a rather grandiose idea of what he accomplished back in the 90s, and while Obama may not have been an active part of politics until the late 90's, he was a civil rights lawyer and very aware of what was going on at the time and before.  The Clintons are leaving themselves open to what promises to be very bruising debates coming up.  Good thing they weren't before the Wisconsin primary, as I think Hillary will have a hard time defending her positions on a number of issues, especially in regard to immigration and labor.

But, what gets me the most is how desperate these two have become, waving hollow accusations at Obama, like "refusing" to debate her in Wisconsin, and saying he is too young to know what it takes to wrangle with the big boys on Capitol Hill.  By all accounts Obama is a guy who does his homework, and this campaign shows it.  He has outsmarted and outflanked the Clintons on the campaign trail to this point, and he may very well do so in Texas too, as the delegates don't favor the demographics in the state, thanks to the Republicans,

if she even wins the primary at this point.

More irregularities,

Apparently, NY (NYC at least) wasn't as clear cut a victory as we were led to believe.

This has become just plain silly,

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080217/ap_on_el_pr/clinton_wisconsin

She hasn't even actively campaigned in the state and yet is accusing Obama of avoiding her.  Those wonderful duplicitous Clintons. They should have a TV show about them after all is said and done.

Hillary's really strong, it's jsut that everyone is so MEAN....whiining from Susan Ethrich:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/uc/20080215/cm_uc_crsesx/op_395286

ah, Susan all was fair when you distorted Joe Biden's words to make him look like a plaigiarizer, and now the press is so un-un---uhhh waaaaaaaaa---sob---unfair!

sniffle.

Yea, I almost shed a tear as well.  The thing dear Susan doesn't seem to figure into her article is that Hill and Bill brought a heap of this "media abuse" upon themselves with all their self-serving comments about Obama.  Now that the tide has turned, electoral wise, they are crying foul.

Anyway, I see from one of maddy's articles that they have shipped Chelsea out to Honolulu to try to win over Hawaiians in the caucuses.  Winning caucuses is about organization not media appearances.

Big Pools vs. Little Pools,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAQ29174tcQ&watch_response

as he rambled on about how Hillary is going to provide blanket health care coverage for Americans.  I wonder if BTO approved the use of "Taking Care of Business," if you can hang into this video until the end?

I see lovely Ann Coulter now refers to Obama as B. Hussein.  I figured it was only a matter of time before such mentally deficient conservative pundits tried to associate Obama's name with Hussein, but for the record the name Hussein has much more positive connotations,

The boy's name Hussein \hu(s)-sein\ is pronounced hoo-SAYN. It is of Arabic origin, and its meaning is "good; small handsome one". The name of a prominent person in Shiite Islam and a royal name in Jordan.

which is probably what his parents intended when they named him Barack Hussein in 1961.

I also note Ann sticking up for Hillary's immigration policy,

It's going to get down and dirty now...

They've hauled out their "Down and Dirty" Spokesperson now...

You know the one... Madame Coulter.

The one that called Edwards a homosexual at that convention...

The audience was stunned... and then they dutifully started clapping...

And laughing dutifully... like it was a funny honky joke...

Do you think, dzimas, this stragegy is smart or desperate?

Dzimas, they are going to have a hard time getting out of there.  It is snowing there now. Heavier wind. It always happens at this time of year when there is somewhere else that you have to be.

I'm not sure what Annie Get Your Gun's strategy is, if she has any other than making outrageous comments to keep herself in the media spotlight.  I suppose she thinks herself quite clever by coming up with B. Hussein.  However, I don't see how her "support" of Hillary helps Hillary any, so maybe this is just another way for the Conservatives to undermine her campaign. They seem pleased as punch to see her losing. I'm sure that in the end Annie will give her support (for what it is worth) to Johnny.

Maddie, I'm sure Wisconsin folks will find a way to get to the polls, especially since this is the first time their vote has counted in the primaries for a long, long time.  If the Clintonites were smart they would rent a bunch of snow plows, clear the driveways wherever they see Clinton signs, and dump the snow wherever they see Obama signs.

Dzimas,

Comment
The Spat
by Hendrik Hertzberg

“The Clintons” used to be a Republican trope, calculated to make one or the other half of the couple look like a puppet or a victim or a co-conspirator; now it is simply descriptive. Bill Clinton’s talents are immense, and so are those of Hillary Clinton. But the events of the past few weeks have suggested that the peculiar dynamics of the Clinton marriage, which distorted the workings of the first Clinton White House in areas ranging from its failed health-care initiative to its inability to quash the Whitewater hoax, would be carried over into a second."

For some Democrats, a final straw has been the Clinton campaign’s sudden interest in changing the rules. In Nevada, where the state’s Democratic Party had provided special caucus sites for casino workers, Clinton allies tried to get them shut down after a union representing many of those workers endorsed Obama. The Democratic National Committee warned the Party’s affiliates in Michigan and Florida that if they moved their primaries ahead of Tsunami Tuesday they would lose their Convention delegates. They did so anyway, and now Clinton—whose name was the only one on the Michigan ballot and who carried Florida, where no one campaigned—is demanding that the two states’ delegates be accredited. Those delegates, added to the bulk of the unelected “superdelegates,” could conceivably put Clinton over the top if Obama arrives at the Convention with a slight edge in delegates chosen by voters—a scenario that would bear an ugly resemblance to Florida, the popular vote, and the Supreme Court, circa 2000.

Frankly, I'm surprised how much obertray left out; or, frankly why should I be surprised?

I think by now the question, or the issue, has been settled for all those people who kept saying in these posts and those of other forums,"Why can't Obama just be Hillary's vice president?   It's pretty obvious now, after the things they, the Billarys said about him.   And whether she can cut even one much less two more debates with him, is for her to worry about.  I don't think she'll be able to handle it without some version of the tear thing again.    At least, with Condi Rice, she just let smoke out of her ears.  I've thought about it since then, how persistent Obama was at questioning Rice; something which she did not expect to happen as he made her answerable about not following through with the delivery of the papers because she had her own agenda that didn't want to recognize somebody (who ought to have been out of her way) instead of sending these briefs about airplane attacks in the US.

She hadn't yet been promoted and he was just this little guy over at the Senate, on -- what was it? Foreign Policy Committee.  The dynamics are very interesting on this.  I suppose she is going back to Stanford. Where else does one go after having been Secretary of State?  (as if I didn't know).

That's too funny, people don't put up signs in their yards in this kind of weather with the wind blowing them away and they are under feet of snow.  We used to slide out a window sometimes, when you couldn't open a door, and walk to school anyway, after blizzards like that. The streets couldn't be cleared enough for my father to drive home and he remained "in residence" at one of the hospitals for a week.  I wasn't thinking of the polls! That's Tuesday. Believe me the local residents know how to get around.  It's the East Coast people that I don't want to be around with their inability to drive under winter conditions.
