Even more irritating to me than the false equivalence with Clinton is the more general, "But all politicians lie and spin and have shady connections...."  As if what Trump does and says is remotely equivalent, in quantity or degree, to the hypothetical average pol.  Electing Trump was more akin to electing your town's sleaziest used car dealer, the one who's been sued many times for rolling back odometers, convicted for molesting female customers, and ran a child porn studio in his basement but got off all charges on some absurd technicality because he's the mayor's nephew.

Man pleads guilty to voting in two states, agrees to cooperate in the investigation.

So, two years later, after the big tax fraud allegations brought NH into the multi-state voter registry check, NH caught one.

Better than not catching him, to be sure, but... really?

Poor Billy...

http://www.msn.com/en-au/entertainment/entertainmenttv/mafs-wife-runs-off-with-todd-carney-after-gaslighting-husband-on-the-show/ar-BBUljLc?li=AAgfYrC&OCID=AVRES000

Things are going well between them until a day spent surfing at the beach turns disastrous. Susie accuses Billy of being a "liar" when he tells her he hasn't surfed "in months" - despite telling her on their honeymoon two weeks prior that he hadn't surfed in "two years".
She demands to know which time-frame is correct and says she can no longer trust him. She also raises an incident from earlier that day, when he told her he had sweetener for her coffee but didn't.

Billy tries to explain himself. "It slipped my goddamn mind," he says, referring to the surfing. "If I lied to you and I was cheating on you, we'd have a problem, but this is ridiculous."

"You lied to me and it's not honest," Susie replies. "I will not take any form of lying and no trust."
He can no longer take Susie's character assassination, and runs up the beach and starts bawling. "I'm trying to do everything I can for her and it's not good enough," he cries.

#####

He thought he had some sweetener for her coffee in his pantry, but didn't.

Simple solution, Billy.

Young women today...hmmm.

Republicans are now coming out against "show-trial type testimony at congressional hearings."

Huh.  That's a change.

Huh.  That's a change.

Congressional oversight of the Executive is mandated by the Constitution.  This is a case of law-breaking that might have influenced the outcome of the election that is documented, has witnesses to it (plural) and has led to a conviction.

The GOP is not refusing to look into this because they don't think its their role, or because they think there is nothing to it.  They are not looking into this because they know they will find something and so don't want to be held to the actions that would then be required of them.

I know GOP bad faith and hypocrisy is so normal now that we can take this for granted, but we shouldn't.  This is political corruption.  Pure, and uncut.

Hypocrisy? You bet!

This was published the day BEFORE Election Day 2016.

Take all the passing, moaning and caterwauling of the GOP does these days and place them in that context.

Right.

“It is my honest opinion that the Clinton Foundation represents potentially one of the greatest examples of political corruption in American history,” said Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.)

But the Trump Organization, a collection of global entities that are at this very moment allowing our President to profit directly from relationships with individuals and organizations both foreign and domestic?

Franks had no problem with that.

Bloomberg says No! to cramming into the democrat clown car on its destination to  presidential oblivion.
Too bad. He has integrity no one else in the party has. But he is not about to slump to identify politics.
At least he has pledged to spend part of his fortune supporting research into viable means of adapting to climate change.
Everyone else just quotes Guardian garbage.
