Mississippi's restrictive abortion ban has been knocked down.

Want no wall...open borders...anyone and everyone just allowed in 'for a better life'?

Do you think that the argument(s) against the wall are arguments for open borders? While a Harvard education might not be necessary, perhaps a class in elementary logic is.

If Democrats in general would stick to "no wall", but restrictive immigration - things might move along a bit smoother.  That would include NOT abolishing ICE and not simply releasing asylum applicants into the general population with the expectation they actually appear for their court date.

That would also include more funding for order patrol to control those not willing to legally seek asylum.

So, what do you say?

We have the money to help the homeless, for the last decade Californians have allocated a lot of funding to help the homeless, along with federal funding, etc. The money needs to go into action. A lot of good things are happening, and many more good things will happen.

And we seriously need to fix our trade deals. If they want us to buy their stuff, then they need to buy our stuff, our people need good honest jobs. It is very important that we balance trade.

We need to get the homeless people clean, sober, housed, fed, and then get them employed.

And there is no need to let the mentally ill people walk around suffering out there on the streets, we need to get them medicated and housed with good food etc.

There is a lot that we can do, and the money is there.

I know a lady who went to Washington DC and got money to help the mentally ill people in Orange County, the money is there. And the voters have been supporting programs to help the homeless for the last decade. The money is there.

Now we need redevelopment money to redevelop areas hard hit by job losses, etc, and we need to give out low interest business loans, etc. We need to breath life back into the USA.

Also, we can do public works projects such as building high speed trains, and also building new water systems where needed, etc, and we can create some jobs that way.

There is a lot that we can do. And remember, we are a wealthy nation, we need to come from a place of abundance and prosperity.

Salute,

Tony V.

I agree, Tony

Trump's administration has done a great job with the vets.  A solution for the homeless may be much more difficult, but it's a great suggestion that this be one of the next things he tackles.

Yet you do have to wonder - with all the cash being tossed around by billionaires - (see West Wing) - if a solution for the homeless was just about cash, woudlnt it have occurred already?

I have no interest in getting rid of ICE. Nor has the Democratic Party actually put forth any real proposal to do so. It's about a serious a public policy proposal as those made by Republicans in advocating getting rid of the IRS.

For the Vets, and others, we will have a new mental wellness center which will be a one stop shop with all of the help right there that a homeless mentally ill Vet would need, and other areas around the nation are watching Orange County. Things that work in the OC will work all around the nation.

Trump wants to help the ex-convicts, and he is aware of the opioid epidemic. I would think that Trump would be a team player on the issue of helping our homeless people. And Trump is fighting to get the USA better trade deals to balance trade.

Salute,

Phil Bryant is a great American.

As long as you are not a pregnant woman?

”As Governor, I’ve pledged to do all I can to protect life,” said Bryant.

But, Kiiid, there is a difference between pledging to do all he can to protect life and actually doing all he can. He falls way short on the action end. Nor does this approach to abortions do anything to protect life.

So, I have to conclude you are just plain wrong. Phil Bryant is merely another mealy-mouthed conservative seeking to control women's bodies, while refusing to actually work to reduce both abortions and the suffering of children born into poverty.

"see West Wing"

OMG, Kiiid.

"if a solution for the homeless was just about cash, woudlnt it have occurred already?"

Kiiid, we have long since proven to anybody prepared to look at the facts that private charity, while important, is insufficient to help all of those in need in this country. So, no, the billionaires whether on West Wing or in reality are not the solution to our homeless problem.

We've seen that it costs less to house the (formerly) homeless than it does to create programs for treatment, for helping to build skills, etc. It's been demonstrated in a bunch of places in a variety of ways.

For 80-90% of the homeless, cash will solve a goodly chunk of the problem.

The failure is will, though, more than anything else, plus a goodly bit of anti-homeless people propaganda.

Tony, you have been majorly snowed.

Trump has no interest in ex-convicts as a group and only marginal interest in them, in so far as a few of them can help him.

And if you think what he is doing has anything to do with a better balance of trade, you should stop and look at those trade numbers, including with China.

Getting action on the climate is more important to these teens than the conflict between their peoples.

This is a good thing.

Yes.
Basically open borders.

Elementary logic;

No proper, impenetrable Israel-style fence/wall is in place now and hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants are simply 'walking' over the border every few years.
People in favour of no wall are indeed arguing for what's in place now to continue.

Wonder what they expect the govt of Israel to actually do to solve 'climate change', ...given that the climate is always changing, ice ages come and go, and the planet heats up and cools all by itself...and Israel is the size of a postage stamp on the map.
Maybe they think Israel should have electric tanks...and electric warplanes...basically toys.
Here's an idea...what about the striking kiddies go down to Hamas HQ and tell them to stop firing missiles into Israel.

And what's "in place" now is not, by any stretch of the imagination "open borders." Unless you spend all day watching Fox News. But to indulge you, do you know how long the Israeli border is?
