Patrick Shanahan your daily example of "only the best people."

An awfully hollow promise when your administration doesn't even follow the most basic vetting practices.

Could it be that America's morbid fascination with Trump is ebbing:

https://www.politico.com/story/2019/06/17/trump-abc-interview-ratings-bust-1366130

Yes, he is a blowhard who says crazy shit who is fascinating like a dumpster fire is fascinating.  But the act gets old.

Maybe this is a sign that we have learned our lesson, and are ready for the President of the United States to be more than a spectacular train wreck we can't turn away from.

Without affixing blame, those Shanahan stories are horrific and again bring to mind Tolstoy's commentary on happy/unhappy families.  I would think there are plenty of other important things that Shanahan can do.

"It could be the thing that has the public home in on where the problem is, where the obstruction is," says Democratic Rep. John Sarbanes of Maryland, a leading author of the House election security agenda. "The public, and I understand that, they paint everything with a broad brush and they say Washington is dysfunctional. Here's a case study that they are going to be very interested in, that shows ... the problem is not with Washington, the problem is not broadly with Congress, the problem is with Mitch McConnell, who will not bring any of these things to the Senate floor."

McConnell bought the Green New Deal to the Senate Floor and the democrats punted.
Now McConnell is avoiding possible campaign issues and you are surprised?

Oh, bullshit! McConnell even admitted it was a “Show vote.” How you gonna hold a vote on important legislation without a hearing?

Dems voted present as to say, “yeah we were here to witness this clown show but we ain’t with it.”
LOL

‘Inhumane, Disgraceful and Dangerous’: Mayor Garcetti Responds to Trump’s Threat to Deport Millions of Immigrants

POSTED 12:01 PM, JUNE 18, 2019, BY NOURAN SALAHIEH, UPDATED AT 12:20PM, JUNE 18, 2019

https://ktla.com/2019/06/18/inhumane-disgraceful-and-dangerous-mayor-garcetti-responds-to-trumps-threat-to-deport-millions-of-immigrants/

--------

California is a Sanctuary State, and so is Nevada. Some other states are Sanctuary States as well. We need to do Civil Disobedience until we can make our rules match our beliefs. We need to do Civil Disobedience until we can do like Reagan did and make our immigrants legal so that they can legally work, pay taxes, and so that they can join unions, and so that they can call the police in the case of an emergency, etc.

We need to have a special GOOD NEIGHBOR policy with our good Christian neighbors here in the Western Hemisphere, and we need to put our immigrants to work, we need to create good honest jobs for them, and also many immigrants start new businesses, etc.

And we need for our Statue of Liberty to be what we stand for, not a wall.

Also, instead of wasting money on a wall, we need new water systems in many locations here in the USA, we need to make sure that our people have safe water to drink. There are many ways that we can spend money, instead of wasting money on a wall that we do not need and which no one wants.

Salute,

Tony V.

Go back to Boeing. See if anyone wants to buy some slightly used 737 aircrafts that may or may not still have that fancy autocrash feature.

Boeing took over the passenger aircraft industry in the USA, and now they are going bankrupt. That sucks.

We will see if there is anything left of Lockheed or McDonell Douglas, or anyone, to start leading the passenger aircraft industry in the USA, and to employ American workers.

Personally I think the new Flying V plane is going to rule the airways.

Just wonderin'

Does anyone on the left care about

A country with 90 per cent in poverty?
Where food and basic necessities are scarce?
Malnutrition is rampant?
The child mortality rate has risen 140% since 2008?
Where newborns in Syria have a better chance of survival ?
Where  measles, diphtheria, tuberculosis have surged and  Malaria cases are up more than ten-fold since 2009?
Hyperinflation has reached 815,000% in May?
Nearly 10% of the country —  some 4 million people — have fled, including many who climbed aboard boats to embark on treacherous and often fatal escapes?

The response from the left to all this? Ignore it, make excuses.
After all it is Venezuela the once great poster child for Socialism.

Venezuela got on the wrong end of one of Cheney’s secret wars. Bush v. Gore is, like herpes or Red’s syphilitic dementia, the gift that keeps giving.

Doesn't take a genius to see the problem in Venezuela was an incompetent and autocratic leader with a totalitarian vision, and not socialism.   It's not an excuse to point out an empirical fact of failed leadership - it's there in plain sight.

Here is a useful article on how to ignore objective facts and be ruled by prejudices and propaganda....

https://www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archive/2019/06/donald-trumps-sinister-assault-truth/591925/

Funny how ideologues who rant against socialist democracy usually opt to not mention successful instances in Europe, where democratic process hasn't been subverted as it was forcefully in Venezuela.

And I have been sending emails to the Catholic Churches, etc.

I have been trying to help the people of Venezuela.

And I recommend that they check out Nevada, if they want to come to the USA.

I have also been posting on Marco Rubio's Facebook page,  etc.

Failed Socialistic leadership?
Say it isn't so.

There are no 'successful' socialist countries anywhere.
