But we'd better run this past Ward - he provides us with his special window into what black Americans think.

ROCK HILL, S.C. — A generational divide among black voters is persisting in the Democratic primary — between the two old white men.

Joe Biden has amassed a staggering lead among older African Americans, commanding nearly two-thirds support of black voters 65 and older in the most recent Morning Consult poll. Bernie Sanders is the favorite of black millennials, though his margin with that group is much smaller. Among all black voters, Biden is leading Sanders, 41 percent to 20 percent.

Politico- September 2, 2019

Millennials came of age with Obama and Biden was his wingman. Boomers know Biden for decades and like him in spite of his policy fuck ups because we know his heart is in the right place.

Bernie came along and millennials had a choice between a guy who challenged the status quo or HRC who represented status quo yet HRC whipped his ass in the primary.

So right now Bernie and Biden have the advantage of big time name recognition and familiarity’s. Both are probably gonna lose to Warren whose organization is formidable.

Both Bernie and Warren are left of Blacks. Their policies on immigration and student loan  forgiveness just two examples.

Chicago already has strict gun laws, and Chicago has horrible gun crimes, the gun laws do not stop the criminals from killing each other. Taking Grandma's gun away will not make anyone safer. it will only take Grandma's right away to defend herself and to defend other people.

And stores such as Walmart need to have armed security guards, and the schools need armed security guards, etc. People need to spend the money to have good security for their customers, and for the students, etc.

People also need to spend more time and money teaching good values to the children, and educating the children, Chicago needs to raise better children instead of raising a bunch of criminals. The children need better role models, and they need supervised playgrounds and supervised skate parks, etc, and baseball parks, etc, and the children need drama classes, and dance, and music lessons, etc. And Cub Scouts is a good program, etc.

Kiwanis can help Chicago, and Kiwanis has great programs for the young people.

https://www.kiwanis.org/clubs/member-resources/service-leadership

Taking guns away from the good people will not help Chicago, and the people need to be able to defend themselves and their families. The answer is for Chicago to raise better children. And the bad adults need to go to jail, while the good adults need to be good role models and the good adults need to be respected.

KTLA 5 News
1 hr ·

Some cried inconsolably. Others believed their parents had abandoned them and were angry and confused.

"Other children expressed feelings of fear or guilt and became concerned for their parents' welfare," according to the report.

https://ktla.com/2019/09/04/federal-report-finds-increased-ptsd-in-migrant-children-separated-from-family-at-border/

-------------

All children are created equal, and their parents are bringing them here from poor countries in a desperate attempt to create a better life for their families. And America is for everyone, and we have our Statue of Liberty welcoming the homeless from around the world.

Detroit City Council Woman Raquel Lopez wants us to send our immigrants from our Southern Border to Detroit, Detroit has a shrinking population and Detroit needs the new people. So, we can just bus our new immigrants from our Southern Border to Detroit. There is no need to separate families, and there is no need to put children in cages, instead just send the people to Detroit where they will be welcomed by Raquel Lopez.

Also, we need people to work in the vineyards, and we need people to build new houses in areas which were destroyed by fires, etc, the unions know where the jobs are, the unions can help our new immigrants to find jobs here.

And we need to change our broken laws to reflect who we are as Americans, and we need to make our immigrants legal, like President Reagan did, and we need to fix our broken laws so that our good Christian neighbors here in the Western Hemisphere can easily live, work, go to school, etc, in America, and we need to make it easy for them to become citizens of the USA. We need to make our immigrants legal, and we need to fix it so that future immigrants can become citizens easily.

We need for our Statue of Liberty to represent what we are all about, not a wall.

And land is cheap and plentiful in Nevada.

Salute,

Tony V.

I knew Redward would be able to tell us precisely where black Americans stand!  And he's caught Warren plotting to take the government away from us.   Apparently by some diabolical plot to persuade people to vote for policies they like.

Thanks  Red!

The only clear cut policies of Warren and Sanders is “taking the government FROM the people.”

The “people” in little Jim’s world are cutthroats, rapists, thugs, and thieves. Despite these crooks’ whiteness, old money status, and feeble religious hypocrisy there is no justification for any of them having a role or influence in politics or government.

Red Jim thinks he’s a customer when he’s really livestock, meat on the hoof for sale in the market. How sad for an almost man.

Matt Yglesias of Vox notes:
“In the past five years, white liberals have moved so far to the left on questions of race and racism that they are now, on these issues, to the left of even the typical black voter. This change amounts to a ‘Great Awokening.’”

Remember the black-face photo of the Governor of Virginia? Nearly every white liberal from Nancy Pelosi on down screamed that the the Governor should resign. But the majority of blacks in Virginia wanted him to stay as their Governor.   And so he has.

“White liberals” moving to the left of black people on questions of race and racism (true or not) does not demonstrate that Sanders and Warren “are left of Blacks.”  The two issues you identify, immigration and student loan forgiveness, are not questions of race or racism.

On some issues black people are more conservative than your average “white liberal.”  Yes.  Same goes for Hispanics, Asians, or, for that matter, Whites.  Your focus on the interests of black people (either because you are feigning interest, or presenting it as a political barometer) is disingenuous, steeped in the patently false idea that Blacks should really be voting for the GOP if they were voting for their interests, even as that GOP is at every turn trying to limit their power at the ballot box (speaking of returning government to the people…)

Black voters may typically see republicans as more of the truly existential threat to their lives and their country than white voters do and they already know the vast majority of white people are somewhat to very racist from personal experience so Northam in office beating back the minions of the Devil you would support in Virginia, Jim, is a good result hard won and not worth overturning.

The original question was about the candidates running for the democrat nomination.
Race or racism has nothing to do with anything I posted nor anyone I quoted.
Neither does the GOP. I also did not state any opinion on who blacks “ should” vote for.
I simply pointed out that blacks, especially older blacks, right now favor Biden according to the polls and other observers.

Ivanka Trump

24 mins ·

This morning we visited El Salero, a woman-owned organic strawberry farm in Usme, Colombia. It was wonderful to see firsthand @USAID’s value chain program that supports capacity building for women strawberry farmers in rural Colombia. #WGDP

-------------------

Ivanka is helping women around the world to start their own businesses, including here in the Western Hemisphere, and right now she is at a strawberry farm in Colombia.

I just love Ivanka, she is doing a great job.

Tony, you fool, Ivanka is one of the uglier monsters in that family. The only one she’s trying to help is Ivanka.

You’ve got to look past the work of the cosmetologists and see the rot behind her eyes.

This is where we are now.

Trump makes a false claim about Dorian threatening Alabama.
The National Weather Service, along with multiple other sources, corrects him.
Rather than say he was mistaken, or say nothing, Trump doubles down on the false claim on a number of different occasions.
Trump gets called out again for repeating the false claim.
So as Dorian continues to threaten lives in states on the East Coast, Trump holds a news conference in the Oval in order to present an obviously doctored map with a magic marker circle around Alabama and claims this was the original forecast.
Meanwhile the original NOAA map he used clearly shows no such black line, nor any threat to Alabama.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/09/04/politics/donald-trump-hurricane-alabama-map/index.html

Our "president' is seriously completely bonkers.
