About that nuclear fusion...

I wish it were more likely. I got excited a few years ago when the Skunkworks set to work on it, but the news since has not given reason to sustain the hope.

If only there was a supermassive fusion generator from which to draw an inexhaustible supply of energy... in the fucking sky.

Once again - no THERE there.

You have it backwards. no there THERE. Or nobody there, more to the point.

If you see no problem with a foreign country's just pouring money into the president's pockets while getting nothing visible for it, you are lying to yourself.

Coup.

The word of the day is...

COUP

End the GOP coup. It is hypocritical greed anxiety inadequacy dumbness and meanness which doesn’t do anything but piss in the cornflakes and shit in the bed. America will know hope and growth and joy again when it has politically killed and buried republicans and their coup. Free America. Fight trump’s poop coup everywhere it rears it’s head.

Coup, a great word.

It took two weeks for the nation to go from being against impeachment to thinking its a good idea.

When fake president dumpster dump, or whatever his name is, plunges below 33% approval, republicans will vote for his impeachment just to avoid his endorsement.

Rats love eating their own.

Armed Militias Are Taking Trump’s Civil War Tweets Seriously

Quote
It might seem tempting to dismiss this language as of a piece with President Trump’s typical Twitter rhetoric. But it is worth paying particular attention to this tweet—because among the people who read it were militia groups enthusiastic about exactly what Trump portended. And while no violence has yet resulted from the president’s tweet, it would be foolish to underestimate the power of Trump’s comments to call rogue militias to action, particularly if there is an impeachment and he continues to use this rhetoric to fan the flames. In the days after his civil war tweet, he went on to use similarly incendiary language, referring to impeachment proceedings as a “COUP.”

Consider the Oath Keepers group, a far-right armed militia. Calling on its 24,000 Twitter followers to read the president’s whole tweet thread, the Oath Keepers account posted:

Quote
Oath Keepers
@Oathkeepers
Here’s the money quote from that thread. This is the truth. This is where we are. We ARE on the verge of a HOT civil war.  Like in 1859. That’s where we are.  And the Right has ZERO trust or respect for anything the left is doing. We see THEM as illegitimate too.

The Asian students lost this time, but I would bet on an appeal.

Ah yes, affirmative action quotas..in the name of diversity.
Now the 'affirmatives' are 'fighting' amongst themselves.

Trump-lite did not learn from the first time and plans to try to shut down Parliament again.

I think polling currently shows broadening support of an impeachment inquiry, not of impeachment.  One poll I saw showed as much as a third of Republicans supporting an inquiry, which is indeed significant.  Not surprising that people are pro due process, and open to being convinced.   That is as it should be.

Contrary to our resident investigator (he will be issuing his findings to the House any day now) most Americans see a THERE there.  If nothing more comes out that is incriminating, things will split along approve/disapprove lines and we will be basically where we are now.  But I’d say there is next to zero chance of this ending with only that one phone call coming to light.  That includes further revelations about how Barr and co. may have illegally buried the whistleblower complaint.
