Their defense is they are white, they are ugly, and they hate women. If that doesn’t entitle them to everything, then they are entitled to nothing at all.

The republican defense is a clear sham, as is trump’s reelection campaign.

The GOP defense is undercut by the fact that Trump is openly tweeting that he DID specifically want dirt on Biden (and also the long-debunked 2016 conspiracy theory).  This contradicts the GOP argument that Trump just hates corruption generally and was just making sure all was squeaky clean in Ukraine before the aid money went through.  (as if it were just some quirky coincidence that the aspect of corruption that he specifically focused on was fake dirt on Biden, a likely opponent to him in 2020).  Trump is basically confessing to a crime on Twitter.  Over and over.  You have to really work at stupidity like that.

Yeah I think the Northwestern newspaper messed up by printing a mea culpa.

A big part of the impeachment is how the Dems lay out the choicest selections from the mountain of evidence trump has put out against himself. You need a dozen paralegals and pro bono lawyers just to sift through the tweets and chopper talk.

At this point that hard part is figuring out to what extent to make it an impeachment of the entire republican party.

Jeff Sessions is still roundly despised by those who can get into college. Wonder why that is?

Quote
The column sparked immediate criticism, much of it from journalists on social media who argued that taking photographs of people in public places and reaching out to ask for interviews is part of the job.

“Being a journalist requires empathy, but this ain’t it,” Gregory Pratt of The Chicago Tribune wrote on Twitter on Monday.

“How is it possible that a newspaper at what is allegedly a top journalism school would apologize for the basics of reporting?” Glenn Kessler, a columnist with The Washington Post, said in a tweet on Monday. “This is a travesty and an embarrassment.”

Indeed.  Public protests are, erm, public.  It's sort of the point of the protest:  to be heard, to express your views.  The reporters were just doing their job.

The original article was journalism. The retraction was much much less so. That’s not saying a follow up wasn’t warranted or a better follow up wasn’t possible. Republican influence degrades student learning at all levels. It’s a stupid hack party survival reflex. The GOP is all neck, no head.

Speaking of journalism,
