Note to Needs.

Research Schumer during Clinton Impeachment flack
Reminds me a lot about the kettle, the pot, and the color black.

With not so unsubtle differences being that a) there was a special council investigation that led to the articles of impeachment against Clinton that deposed all requested witnesses and had already performed fact-finding and b) it was about the President lying about a blow job, a charge which already could reasonably be argued is not worthy of impeachment.

Here the Senate needs to perform fact finding because a corrupt AG is blocking the Justice Department from doing its job, and the “president” is ignoring subpoenas and blocking key witnesses to get to the facts behind charges that are not only impeachable but arguably the worst abuse of power in the nation’s history.

But yeah, other than that, same-same.

McConnell: I am not an impartial juror.

How does it work, when you pledge to violate a Constitutionally mandated oath to be an impartial juror before you take the oath?

Note what McConnell is saying. It's a "partisan process" so therefore I am under no obligation to consider the facts.

I mean, it makes sense since the facts are clear that Trump is a guilty fuck, and any idiot can see it.  So McConnell who (unlike some notable posters here) has enough self-regard that he doesn't want to look like an idiot, is announcing ahead of time that this decision will not be in any way based on Trump's actual guilt.

Which suits his personal political purposes now, but it screws over our Democracy when you say hey, a President can do whatever he wants so long as one branch of Congress is partisan enough to protect him.

Not a good look for the folks sworn to uphold our Constitution.

Needs will go down in history with those who cried how Bill Clinton should have been removed from his position.  As a blabbering extremist.

Proud, he must be.

Of course we now know that there was no collusion by Trump with Russia, no Trump obstruction of justice , but plenty of misconduct by FBI and Justice officials bent on overturning an election. And a willing media to rubber stamp that misconduct.

IG Report found the investigations into Trump Campaign connections with Russia were justified.
No.
Horowitz concluded only that the “ opening “ of an investigation was warranted.
What ensued was not.

In his words;

It doesn’t vindicate anyone at the FBI who touched this, including the leadership,”

“Does it vindicate Mr. McCabe? A reference to Comey’s deputy, Andrew McCabe.
“Same answer,
The inspector general found 17 errors or omissions made by the FBI as it sought and received approvals to conduct surveillance on former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. Those applications were filed to the secret court created by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, or FISA, to oversee intelligence and terrorism cases.

“It’s fair for someone to sit there and look at all of these 17 events and wonder how it could be purely incompetence,

So full of shit.

Carter Page. Yeah, someone fucked up so let’s just forget everything while we whine about process.

News Item
December 17, 2019

WASHINGTON—A secretive surveillance court issued a rare public order on Tuesday, rebuking the FBI for its handling of warrant applications on Carter Page, a onetime Trump campaign foreign-policy adviser.
The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court—which operates in near total secret—called a recent watchdog report “troubling” and described the behavior of the Federal Bureau of Investigation as “antithetical to the heightened duty of candor” owed to the court.

LOL!
You mean Nancy’s equivocating coupled with the laughable boobery of Adam Schiff and Jerry Nadler failed to convince any sizable block of Americans that this Impeachment Charade was anything more than a three year continuation of “ GET TRUMP”?
Every day we all learn more about the corruption behind the FBI thugs and goons who decided they knew better than American voters who should have won the 2016 election?
Even the most ardent anti-Trumpers agree the House dems failed to make a case for conviction.

Megafire NW of Sydney is still burning...has burnt out 988,000 acres of national park bush/forests so far.
More homes lost the other day.
It dies down for a few days, then flares again when the winds spring up.
Gonna be 'on for young and old' on Thurs this week when the temperature will be reaching 114F in Sydney's west and the fire zone...with strong westerly winds.
Back the smoke will be coming into Sydney again.

100+ fires burning in NSW atm...54 reportedly out of control.

Greta-ilk folk are complaining.
Doctors are complaining.

Highest temperatures in recorded history but No. 1 radio host says global esrm8ng is a hoax, right?

Now we know what the Fox toilet outflow is feeding you, Red. It doesn’t sound very nourishing and is contributing mightily to your decline.

In the real world, Russian paid flunky and useful idiot wrangler Guiliani fingers himself for the hit job on the ambassador rooting Russian goons out of their power holds in Ukraine.

Why is guilty trump still hiding documents and testimony? Is he worried about being treated like an asylum seeker or a protester at one of his events?

Republicans defending him are making themselves into barking maniacs in the process, setting off a whole series of adds titled, “To defend the biggest criminal”.

44% of the country still doesn’t know what trump is really guilty of, but the full story will come to be known in time.
