In the case of an emergency such as a hurricane, some good items to send are cans of Chef Boyardee Beef Ravioli, and Kellogg's Pop Tarts. You can live on that....

If I'm in the middle of a catastrophe and that's what is provided,  just leave me for dead.

In a letter addressed to Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley of Iowa, and obtained by CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360," Christine Blasey Ford's attorneys argue that "a full investigation by law enforcement officials will ensure that the crucial facts and witnesses in this matter are assessed in a non-partisan manner, and that the Committee is fully informed before conducting any hearing or making any decisions."

The letter from Ford's lawyers notes that despite receiving a "stunning amount of support from her community," Ford has also "been the target of vicious harassment and even death threats" and has been forced to leave her home.

"We would welcome the opportunity to talk with you and Ranking Member Feinstein to discuss reasonable steps as to how Dr. Ford can cooperate while also taking care of her own health and security," the letter from Ford's lawyers said.

"What we're saying is there should be an investigation because that's the right thing to do," Ford's attorney Lisa Banks told Cooper.

Granting Kiid's and Red's GOP talking points that there would be nothing for the FBI to find, just for the sake of the discussion, what would the loss be were the FBI allowed to actually do the investigation?

What's the risk?

Only one, for the GOP: That they find something.

And that is what the GOP and President Trump fear.

Diane Feinstein
I can’t say everything is truthful

Debra Katz, the attorney for the woman accusing Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault:
is not her client’s job to corroborate her claims.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/09/18/politics/ford-letter-fbi/index.html

LOL
I thought you were supposed to know politics.

You do know Dr. Ford and her counsel are now running this show. Chuck Grassley doesn’t know what is going on and neither do you.

"Asking her to come forward in four or five days and sit before the Judiciary Committee on national TV is not a fair process. If they care about doing the right thing here and treating this seriously as they have said, then they will do the right thing and they will properly investigate this, and she will work with them in that investigation and also to share her story with the committee," Banks said Tuesday night.”

Ms Ford has been given the option of speaking privately, no cameras

While you are speaking for her - tell us -

how did the ordeal end?  And where did you go immediately after?

Dude, you acting like Kavanaugh is a cop what shot an unarmed black kid!

“Did the perpetrator in the process of raising his hands above his head, make a furtive gesture with his right hand while motioning toward his waistband with his left?”

Sheesh!

If you know that world, and I do, you know the elite macho culture of the ultra privileged scions of the Beltway Masters of the Universe.

Don’t forget this was the immediate post Animal House age.

Fast Times at Ridgemont High... Risky Business.

Think about any high school movie from that time period and amp it up to include large numbers of literally bulletproof young men who can do no wrong.

In the recent catastrophe in Puerto Rico, they sent them lame shit like Skittles. If you are going to send stuff, then send the good stuff. People wasted gasoline to go pick up lame stuff like free Skittles. At least send them Chef Boyardee Ravioli.

Salute,

Tony V.

I was kidding,  Tony.   If you're looking at starvation I'm sure canned ravioli is a little slice of heaven.

Amazing how fast the Senate GOP went from “We don’t care if Kavanaugh committed perjury” to “We don’t care if he committed sexual assault.”

Dems are suing to have Kavanaugh’s documented dirty work under Bush released.

The GOP has scrapped its elephant for a mushroom. Sad.

Figures you cannot tell the difference between illegal search and siezure vs. an accusation of a crime from a respected member of the community against another respected member of the community and concommitant investigation from that.

But yes, for those carrying contraband, exactly like that.

Your besmirching the FBI and suggesting that they would fabricate evidence against Kavanaugh shows just how far you and your party have strayed from their Law and Order roots.

Yeah, everybody's against you, so better prevent an investigation.

No wonder you think Mueller should be stopped!

As we just learned Mrs. Ford won’t testify next week until an FBI investigation is completed.
Her intentions are now clear. Delay Kavanaugh a seat on SCOTUS until after the mid-terms.

This is, of course, one of the stupider things that Red has ever posted and he's posted a ton of them!

In this instance, even if they have the vote after the mid-term elections and even if the Dems claim sufficient members of the Senate that they would be able to block the nomination after inauguration day, there is nothing that would preclude the GOP's ramming it through duing their lame duck session.

Not all Mexican immigrants/illegal immigrants become brain surgeons in the US;

http://time.com/5375374/mexican-man-mollie-tibbetts-fake-name/

“He showed up every day, and he did his job. He was patted on his back. They turned a blind eye to the reality of documentation,” Richards said.

Investigators say they believe Rivera was in the country illegally when he abducted Tibbetts as she went on an evening jog, killed her and dumped her body in a cornfield.

Best to seal the borders and make sure that people already in the US, and who are seeking to enter the US legally, really are who they say they are.
