The guidelines, meant to speed Trump's goal of restarting a moribund economy, won't be mandatory and the ultimate decisions on how and when to open will fall to individual governors, many of whom have already extended restrictions into May.

But Trump, eager to see a return to normalcy for housebound Americans, wants to provide at least a framework for how places can reopen despite warnings from all corners that testing capacity for coronavirus is still too small.

He is planning to brief the governors of all 50 US states on the new guidelines during a 3 p.m. ET teleconference.

Pretty much how he has handled most of this crisis.

"I think it's time ... for Dr. Fauci to move along," Biggs said in the KFYI-AM interview. "I mean, he shouldn't have a seat at the table. He shouldn't be making decisions that are basically impacting this country in a way that we haven't even considered.

"I mean, he has said he has not considered economic or societal or social fallout for his remedy for the epidemic. And if that's the case, I think he gets some credit for where we stand today, but I think it's time for him to move on."

This is the lying scumbag who presented the bogus bill saying "have admitting privileges at a hospital located within 15 miles from the principal medical office of the physician and the location in which the abortion is being performed," and claiming it has a damned thing to do with women's health rather than control of them.

No, this man has no comprehension of health issues.

And he supports trickledown economics, so he has no understanding of economics issues, either.

Quoting his positions on either health or econ is even more absurd than quoting Keith Olberman on politics.

Meanwhile, a new zombie meme....

People immediately noticed that this had a striking similarity to imagery from various zombie horror movies and TV shows like Dawn of the Dead, Shaun of the Dead and The Walking Dead and thus a meme was born....

WaPo editorial on why conservatives may want to join coalition against Trump...

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/the-anti-trump-coalition-is-forming-the-left-and-right-must-join/2020/04/15/a692d904-7e0b-11ea-8013-1b6da0e4a2b7_story.html

Quote
As the covid-19 crisis shows, conservatives have just as much interest in competent government as progressives do. They should be appalled by Mr. Trump’s corrupt authoritarian instincts, as he uses his power to threaten and discriminate against companies he personally dislikes and as he directs government resources toward political cronies. His trade protectionism, which led to a massive farm subsidy program, is perhaps the most socialist policy any president has imposed in recent times. Those who care about a strong national defense should worry that he has severed ties with close allies and cozied up to foreign strongmen who mean the United States harm. Anyone who has ever worried about the national debt should be horrified at his lack of interest in fixing the government’s finances...

Is Herbert Hoover starting to run attack adds? It’s nice to know how they are keeping busy in the bunker while governors are fighting the crisis trying to save jobs and lives.

”After using up the swine flu emergency funds, the Obama administration tried to replenish the stockpile in 2011 by asking Congress to provide $655 million, up from the previous year’s budget of less than $600 million. Responding to swine flu, which the CDC estimated killed more than 12,000 people in the United States over the course of a year, had required the largest deployment in the stockpile’s history, including nearly 20 million pieces of personal protective equipment and more than 85 million N95 masks, according to a 2016 report published by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine.

“We recognized the need for replenishment of the stockpile and budgeted about a 10% increase,” said Dr. Nicole Lurie, who served as the assistant secretary for preparedness and response at the Department of Health and Human Services during the Obama administration. “That was rejected by the Republican House.”

Republicans took over the House of Representatives in the 2010 midterms on the Tea Party wave of opposition to the landmark 2010 health care reform law, the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare. The new House majority was intent on curbing government spending, especially at HHS, which administered Obamacare.”[i/]

Andy Biggs is an idiot. He always has been. My only surprise is that it wasn't Gosar.
