Laura Ingraham Calls Anthony Fauci ‘Medical Deep State’
The Fox News host advised the president to ignore the “alarmist COVID drivel” and get on with his campaign rallies.

I look forward to hearing that she attended and did not wear a mask.

Fauci said US government held off promoting face masks because it knew shortages were so bad that even doctors couldn't get enough

In an interview with the financial-news site TheStreet, Dr. Anthony Fauci said the public was initially told not to wear masks to stop COVID-19 because of shortages of PPE for doctors.

He said the government's shift in advice was because of "changing circumstances" and new research.

He denied that earlier advice against wearing a mask was a contradiction of the new policy.

Fauci now advocates masks "unequivocally" as a complementary measure to social distancing.

Here's the lie. Now, spread it for us, governor's!!

I'm old enough to remember when the GOP spent two years investigating the deaths of four Americans abroad in part because they thought the Obama Administration lied about it to escape any political ramifications.

The Trump Administration is caught lying about a virus that has killed 120,000 Americans because they think it will help them to escape any political ramifications, but this will be in the news for about 9 hours.

Overshadowed by the SCOTUS ruling on sexual discrimination  yesterday was another decision, 7-2, overturning an obstacle to a much delayed pipeline for Natural Gas from Maine to Virginia. At issue was the fact the pipeline would cross the Appalachian Trail(albeit hundreds of feet underground)

It's really not
About.0006 of the population.
Quality of life is of concern

Sometimes we overfocus on deaths.  I can understand since it is rather final.
Unless you believe some Christian mythology or other dodge.

Over 2M known infected.  And that's just positive tests.  Likely the infection rate is 5-10x higher.  So Trump is responsible for 115K deaths and probably up to 20M infections.  A huge botch job.   I'd be interested in how many Americans tested positive and had serious enough cases that they had to be hospitalized.  Scary and unpleasant.  Just because someone survived didn't mean they weren't at risk of dying.

And if the virus was tackled earlier, competently and face masks obligatory, the infection and death rate would be a fraction of what they are now.  But Trump and the Trumpeters were inept and then made things worse by politicizing the health care response.

We still don't know enough about how and why COVID can be deadly for kids:

https://www.newsday.com/news/health/coronavirus/coronavirus-children-inflammatory-syndrome-cohen-study-1.45762197

We still don't know if mutations of the virus are making it more transmissable:

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/06/12/science/coronavirus-mutation-genetics-spike.html

There are long term effects potentially for people who have just mild symptoms:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/joshuacohen/2020/06/13/report-suggests-some-mildly-symptomatic-covid-19-patients-endure-serious-long-term-effects/#6e715abb5979

And we are staring down a possible resurgence in the Fall:

https://www.crainsnewyork.com/health-care/health-and-hospitals-preps-fall-resurgence-covid-19

But folks, go back to acting like everything is normal because we need to get Trump reelected, uh, quality of life.

And if a few more hundred thousand die, no biggie.  Just 0.009 percent of the population.

It was a good decision, even if I don't like the result.

In Tulsa, the arena where Trump's shindig will be on Saturday has canceled all upcoming events, with the exception of the rally, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

On my tv news yesterday was a story about how 2 cops in America somewhere, NYC?  were poisoned by bleach having been put in the milkshakes they bought from a store.

The story mentioned some wanting it to be prosecuted as a hate crime.

Turns out to have been a fake claim. Three got sick. No bleach. No crime. And fortunately, no prosecution.

Turns out to have been a fake claim.

Which didn't stop Hannity and Don Jr. from running with it, of course.
