Trump will still get a nom, just someone who belongs on the S Ct.

Really a good outcome for the GOP is to have Sasse and Flake vote against Kav in this procedural straw vote.  McConnell and Trump realize the votes aren't here and withdraws his nom.
GOP gets to mollify the national #metoo mood and reassure women.
Collins and Murkowski don't have to make a tough vote.

Trump noms a female judge.

The only woman I can see trump nominating is his sister who is on her way to being disbarred for the same money laundering and tax fraud as the rest of the family. Trump is more frightened of women than Bambi, the poor duck.

Kavanaugh will need to be water boarded several times before he gets to the bottom of his issues. The process should be halted until this occurs. If we don’t still have a black site in Turkey, the feds can borrow the necessary equipment from the Chicago police.

9pm man ban would be like a gun ban...only good men would obey it.

Which would make picking up the bad men much easier!

Well, what the situation calls for is some conciliation.

A moderate, Souter-type, would go through.  But since Trump is unlikely to choose a moderate (as Obama did), the other concession would be to pick a very conservative woman.

Having a 4th woman on SCOTUS would be an advance.
I was surprised that there are 5 GOP female senators.
Not that 5 of 51 is a lot, and one was appointed to fill Sessions term, but that is progress.

Under the new regime any men out after dark would have to be accompanied by a responsible female.

There are a number of options. One is simply to ban all men from being on the streets or on public transport after, say, 9.30pm (10.30pm daylight saving). Which is effectively the restriction currently placed on women.

As females, once we’re out and about after dark, post-peak hour, we all know we’re in potential danger. So let’s shift the burden back on to the blokes – who certainly could be at large after curfew if they chose to but would know they’re at constant risk of being caught and spending the night in lock-up.
