Rand Paul refers to Fauci as not all knowing and to the scared population as sheep being led by a couple of men in government

Fauci responds that he agrees mostly with Paul - and that often the PRESS relays, interprets his words incorrectly.  Specifically mentioned is the safety of sports leagues

Rand Paul was and is an ass. But he made those comments weeks ago, unless he was stupid enough to make them again.

Fauci responded like a gentleman.

I don't have much use for Fauci.
He lied about face masks.  A health care professional shouldn't lie about health benefits/risks.  Maybe Fauci is about the best we can expect under Trump.  But I'd replace him with someone more forthright and forceful.

Warren wants Fauci to give her a number for future deaths

Sick.

And now she acts like a spoiled brat in demanding more time.

The peaceful protesters were not the subject of scorn or disdain by the McCloskeys," their attorney, Albert S. Watkins, said in a statement to CNN. "To the contrary, they were expecting and supportive of the message of the protesters. The actions of violence, destruction of property and acts of threatening aggression by a few individuals commingling with the peaceful protesters, gave rise to trepidation and fear of imminent and grave."
Watkins says his clients acted, "lawfully on their property," and that "their actions were borne solely of fear and apprehension, the genesis of which was not race related. In fact, the agitators responsible for the trepidation were white."

- from CNN.com

Oh, well, I stand corrected.  I mean, if that is what their attorney says then it must be true.

This wasnt directed at you - but thanks

New York is, sadly, about to be a different version of SEWER.

Booooooooooo, DeBlozz

Cops will be criticized tonight on CNN/MS for their aggression today.

Too funny.

Now taxpayers get to fund anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, the anti-abortionists, and other forms of religious-bigotry.

Thanks, SCOTUS.

The Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that states may not exclude religious schools from tuition grants that support other private schools.

The justices, by a 5-4 vote, decided that denying grants to students in church schools amounts to unconstitutional discrimination against religion.

The decision is a victory for advocates of school choice, and a setback for those favoring strict interpretation of the principle of church and state separation.

Montana, like more than 30 other states, has a long-standing state constitutional provision that forbids spending tax money to support churches and their affiliates. On that basis, the state supreme court blocked a state-sponsored scholarship program that would give grants to parents sending their children to private and parochial schools.

But the U.S. Supreme Court, in Espinoza vs. Montana, reversed that ruling on the grounds it violated the 1st Amendment's protection for the free exercise of religion.

The court did not say states must fund private schools. But if a state chooses to support private schools through grants or scholarships, it may not exclude some of them because of their religious affiliation.

coronavirus G mutation has taken over the world

Interesting article.
It's believed that this one mutation has made the virus more infectious (better able to attach to and enter human cells).  Could help explain why China and much of Asia that got the original D-strain were able to limit transmission, while Europe and the Americas got hit hard.  Though clearly a lot has to do with measures taken -- precautions such as lockdowns and face masks and limiting gatherings.

There's 3 or 4 theories on how the mutation might make the virus more dangerous.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2020-election/charles-booker-amy-mcgrath-neck-neck-kentucky-senate-democratic-primary-n1232513

Retired Marine Lt. Col. Amy McGrath has won the state’s U.S. Senate Democratic primary, NBC News projects, narrowly edging Kentucky state Rep. Charles Booker in a tougher-than-expected race for the right to face Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell in November.

McGrath, who was backed by several establishment Democrats including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., had initially had been a heavy favorite in the race and held an enormous fundraising edge over Booker, whose candidacy has received the support of progressive lawmakers and groups.

...McGrath led Booker 44.9 percent to 43.4 percent, or by a margin of about 7,500 votes, with 91 percent of the state's precincts reporting, according to NBC News.

Now you know where to send your check.

(NJ)Gov. Phil Murphy joined New York and Connecticut last week in calling on people to self-quarantine if they spend time in places where COVID-19 are quickly on the rise. New Jersey has the third most total positive tests after New York and California and the second most deaths, the number of new deaths and positive cases New Jersey have steadily declined in recent weeks.

The latest list of states under voluntary quarantine, according to the state’s Department of Health include:

Alabama
Arkansas
Arizona
California
Florida
Georgia
Iowa
Idaho
Louisiana
Mississippi
North Carolina
Nevada
South Carolina
Tennessee
Texas
Utah
The new additions from the original eight states are California, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, Nevada and Tennessee. Washington state was on the list the day Murphy made the announcement, but it was dropped within a day because of the formula the state uses to calculate which areas are considered hotspots.

The quarantine criteria includes states with a positive test rate higher than 10 per 100,000 residents or a state with a 10% or higher positivity rate over a 7-day rolling average. The quarantine includes New Jersey residents who travel to those states and return.

Look, Governor. Just close the bridges from NY and PA and DE. That will really help a lot. Especially down the shore.

What???

So hard to grasp...

there is a lag that comes between new cases increasing and new deaths increasing. 2-3 weeks, usually.
