What we really need is speeding  up the reopening of the economy and putting people back to work so they can go on with their lives deaths. ( and pay their rent).

Uh, Trump forgot to actually first reduce transmissions enough to allow reopenings to occur, and didn't arrange enough testing and contact tracing to do so safely.
Speedier and greater reopenings just mean greater spread, more sickness, more hospitalizations, more deaths.  The greater the virus spreads, the more likely it will find the vulnerable.

Haven't you paid any attention to what's happening??
Gatherings and many not wearing masks, so that the number of infections have hit record highs in the US and now most every state has a serious outbreak?
That's what openings have gotten us.
Many states are pulling back and adding restrictions, because they'd like to keep their citizens safe, healthy, out of the hospital, not in graves ...

Anarchists   have been running amok egged on by tyrannical politicians coveting political power.

Do you mean the guy who ran over protesters in Seattle, or when shots were fired into a group of protesters in Louisville, killing one of them?    Yes, that kind of anarchy should not be tolerated.  And the politicians who are stoking race-based fear about the BLM protests in order to keep their political power should also face the consequences.

Of course, that isn't what you meant.  But lets look at the facts for a second:

26 million Americans have taken part in the BLM protests.  That's almost 30 percent of the adult population.  If those protests in and of themselves could largely be described as "Anarchy!" and defined by the horrible and unacceptable killing of innocents, the country would be on fire.

But...the country isn't on fire.  The deaths you and kiidcarter8 have used to vilify BLM have been few and far between.  And you want to talk about monuments, hunks of iron and steel that can be rebuilt and replaced (by a population that is going to have an awful lot of people looking for work over the next few years.)

So who, exactly, is egging on fear of the protests for political power?  Why Trump, of course, whose speeches this weekend you and kiid now parrot, but which had no more connection to reality than the nonsense you regularly post here.

Well the anarchists overstayed and are now killing the innocent and the tyrannists are feeling the wrath of the public

Innocents have been killed on both sides.  Only one side is trying to define an entire civil rights movement by those deaths.  And that civil rights movement, far from overstaying its welcome, still enjoys a large majority of the support of Americans who according to polls support the protesters and the protester's larger goal of police reform.

What we really need is speeding  up the reopening of the economy and putting people back to work so they can go on with their lives. ( and pay their rent).

The economy did need a speedy recovery from its forced closure so that people could go back to work and pay their rent. You are right!

Now whose fault is it that this isn't happening, REDSTATEWARD?

I suggest to NEEDS that he learn the definition of anarchy.
The overwhelming number of Americans who peacefully protested The George Floyd murder was impressive and meaningful.
Then the anarchy began with looting and rioting and taking over parts of cities and the absurd push to eliminate police departments.
Inevitably regular Americans rushed to buy guns in large numbers to protect themselves. This past weekend the anarchists killed their own and several politicians got up enough nerve to fight back.
Not so in New York City where police were taken off the street leading to random and fatal shootings of innocent citizens. Chicago continues to just watch as black on black homocides continue.
And it is now dawning on many of the local leaders who overplayed lockdown rules that the lawlessness of the anarchists is a contributor to an uptick in Covid  cases.

it is claimed that "the cases are mild and those who contract it make a full recovery".
96%, 97% or so..."just like getting a mild case of the flu."

Recovery, yes.  Full recovery less clear.  There are reports of long term lung and other organ damage resulting from CV-19.

I think Trump's numbers (probably intentionally) confuse the 99% who don't become critical and need ICU care with 99% having few to no symptoms.  Unless they are counting the probable Actual Infections which should be over 30M.  Not sure they want to acknowledge those.  Of course the 10% of infected people who get tested likely have flu symptoms or they wouldn't have gotten tested

All you mentioned are important factors in determining or concealing the real numbers.

Trump is doing none of that.

Trump is simply bullshitting because he’s a heartless incompetent lazy coward.

It’s simply as simple as that.

Thank you for reminding us about long term secondary effects being documented. It’s not often taken into account when considering the risks.

About the unleashed gun violence across the nation...

I’m sure the conditions down the socioeconomic scale is especially chaotic, global pandemic and all.

In normal times Cops spend so much time crushing everybody but when shit crosses the line and people scream enough! Cops pull back and say they’re scared to interact.

Pull the Lion out of the savannah and the jackals and hyenas move up a notch and fight for the turf ceded by the bigger predator.

The citizens catch the shit one way or another.

I'm a little unsettled by this comment. It seems you're using Social Darwinism to explain an American domestic violence issue. But let's look further at the analogy.

Cops are lions. Citizens are, what? Impalas? Hyenas and jackals are pretty good at letting others kill for them, then they swoop in and steal prey. So, they're more like mobsters.

The most effective predators on the Savannah are wild dogs, who collaborate to kill. But they only kill to survive. And they always feed the youngest, oldest, and sickest among themselves, first.

Most creatures don't join together to stop the predators. Buffalo, however, will fight predators. As will elephants. They have strong social groups. But most animals just bolt from the scene if a predator goes after one of their own.

So. Please clarify. Because when communities like those that buffalo and elephant build come together, they can work to stop predators. They can't eliminate them, but they can greatly frustrate them.

Or they can be like the Impala, and try to outrun predators.

Doesn't always work, though. On the savannah the Impala is known as the McDonald's of the bush. Why? Because every major predator eats them. Their defense mechanism is to always be on the alert, run fast, and reproduce prolifically.

Better to be an elephant than an Impala. Or a buffalo.

I’m sure you’re speaking from experience or you’re trolling for a philosophical debate over bullshit semantics usually prefaced with a “Well, actually...”

You’re mansplaining up the wrong tree.

First, I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action”; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a “more convenient season.” Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.

41 yr old Broadway star had to have leg amputated, Covid-19 complications [closes down organs, hearts etc],

Contrary to expectations, he's still alive....

heh

Are you gloating at the death of someone so you can convince yourself of "winning" on the internet?

Sorry, that's just beyond the pale.
Agreed. That's kind of like gloating at a plane crash death accident of a ballplayer because he was viewed as a "scab."

When I read that sentence the first thought was Thurman Munson, the second Roberto Clemente.

How soon before we see this peaceful protest presented as armed insurrection by our "friends on the right"?

The. New, newer, newest Black Panther Party, right?

Then the anarchy began with looting and rioting and taking over parts of cities and the absurd push to eliminate police departments.

The overwhelming number of Americans who are peacefully protesting for George Floyd (and others) continue to be impressive and meaningful, and an overwhelming number of Americans continue to support their cause.

What has changed is that Trump has watched his reelection chances go south in a hurry, so he has chosen to define those overwhelmingly peaceful protests as Anarchy(!) in order to rev up his overwhelmingly White base.  He is seeking to divide Americans because he thinks he has a better chance at winning election when his base is angry and afraid.

And so naturally, you and kiidcarter8 eat it up like its chocolate (vanilla?) cake.

By location, there is little to no correlation between the protests and the "uptick" (lol) in COVID cases.

There is a clear correlation between the States that reopened too soon and the "uptick" (again, lol) in COVID cases.

Ask Gov. Abbott about that.
