And it is now dawning on many of the local leaders who overplayed lockdown rules that the lawlessness of the anarchists is a contributor to an uptick in Covid  cases.

By location, there is little to no correlation between the protests and the "uptick" (lol) in COVID cases.

There is a clear correlation between the States that reopened too soon and the "uptick" (again, lol) in COVID cases.

Ask Gov. Abbott about that.
You ask him. But I see why you’d rather not talk about it

What is it you think I don't want to talk about?

Meanwhile I asked you a direct question that you still haven't answered:

The economy did need a speedy recovery from its forced closure so that people could go back to work and pay their rent. You are right!

Now whose fault is it that this isn't happening, REDSTATEWARD?
The politicians who closed the economy.
Many of them are tyrants.

I think you need to look up the word Tyrant.

Texas opened up their economy sooner than just about anyone.  Florida did as well.  Arizona.  Georgia.  Places I don't think you would argue are run by "tyrants".  We are now seeing these places needing to cut back on their reopening plans because they reopened too soon without testing and tracking, and without the recommended level of cases.

And then there is a "president" who decided that masks, far and away the best way to prevent COVID spread, should be the subject of a culture war and a loyalty test, and far too many in the country answered the call.

Meanwhile, those socialist Europeans undoubtedly run by Tyrants (!) in your view are opening up again after a strict lockdown that wasn't half-assed.

We had a choice; shut down the right way and get the economy going sooner or fuck it up, reopen too soon, have COVID spread out of control, and suffer long-term damage to the health of Americans and our economy, because people aren't going to go out to restaurants and movie theaters in the middle of a pandemic just because their government opens them.

Which did we choose?  The later, of course.  And the Tyrants (!) like Gov. Cuomo who drafted strict reopening guidelines and stuck to it did not make that choice.

Red is  the face of today's Republican party.

He wants workers chained to their desks to protect corporate profits, the stock market and his IRA .

So fucking short-sighted.

And so fucking stupid.

So what if millions more gets sick, hospitals get swamped, the healthcare system implodes and hundreds of thousands more needlessly die.

Right Red?

You greedy ignorant motherfucking piece of shit.

And the economy gets sicker and sicker and takes longer to get well.

And eventually the stock market will reflect the economy.

Unless of course the Fed keeps on bailing it out.

But no oversight right Red?

You stupid motherfucker.

Red and the Repubs won't sacrifice for the greater good.

Red's party of no regulation and no oversight is a fucking menace to us all.

Fucking short-sighted idiots should be neutered and not allowed to procreate.

or they can go fuck themselves.

This is really bad.

Is America ready to scratch this deep into systemic racism?

To make the changes demanded, it’s the only way to get the started right.

I've spent some time trying to explain the meaning and significance of current events to you REDSTATEWARD, but anyone who looks at the current situation the US is in and concludes "we needed to reopen sooner" or even that we never should have closed in the first place, is truly far too much of an imbecile to be worth the time.

So fucking short-sighted.

And also just logically wrong.  What are those chained workers going to be doing with people staying at home, not because their government tells them too, but because going out could fucking kill you?

REDSTATEWARD and his ilk have never understood how the demand side of an economy works.

Foreign students in America who are only studying online have been told they must leave the country or enrol in face to face teaching facilities.
Fair enough.

What about virtual Congress?
Australia is to have a virtual federal parliament on a permanent basis, even after the pandemic, reportedly.
Canberra is rural. Boiling hot and freezing cold.
Politicians seem to have become comfortable working from home.

In light of my previous posts :

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp declared a state of emergency Monday following an uptick in shootings over the July Fourth weekend that injured 31 people and killed five after weeks of violent crime and property destruction in Atlanta.

“Peaceful protests were hijacked by criminals with a dangerous, destructive agenda. Now, innocent Georgians are being targeted, shot, and left for dead," Kemp, a Republican, said in a statement. "This lawlessness must be stopped and order restored in our capital city. I have declared a State of Emergency and called up the Georgia Guard because the safety of our citizens comes first.

Hours earlier the mayor of Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms issued a full-throated call for citizens to stop ”shooting each other up on our streets," after an 8-year-old girl was shot and killed on the Fourth of July near a Wendy's that has become a flashpoint of anti-police Black Lives Matter (BLM) protests in the city.

Bottoms, a Democrat who is considered a potential running mate for Joe Biden, made the remarks as she fought through tears -- and the nation endured a new bout of urban carnage. Sixty-three people were injured and 17 killed in Chicago, including two children, over the weekend; and in New York City, 44 were hurt and at least six killed.

“Enough is enough," Bottoms said. "Enough is enough. We have talked about this movement that's happening across America and this moment in time when we have the ears and the interests of people across this country and across this globe who are saying they want to see change. But the difference in this moment in time with the civil rights movement -- in the civil rights movement, there was a defined, common enemy. We're fighting the enemy within when we are shooting each other up on our streets."

She continued: "
”You shot and killed a baby. And there wasn’t just one shooter; there were at least two shooters. An 8-year-old baby. If you want people to take us seriously, and you don't want us to lose this movement, then we can't lose each other."

You sad, sad bullshitter. You come up with the flimsiest crap to back the worst causes. It’s a good thing you are odious and repulsive. If you had any influence, you’d be quite dangerous to peace and stability, like the public figures you support.

The difference between her and yourself REDSTATEWARD is that she sees the shootings as a terrible distraction from the movement, you think they define the movement.

The US suffers from gun violence every day of its life, and unfortunately July 4th is historically a weekend when that violence is at its worst.  Summer months also see higher levels of gun violence.

Watch the people who link that violence to BLM closely over the next few months.  You won't need to guess at their political affiliation.
