Posting this, but have not been through the day's posts, so my apologies if it is a repeat:

It so doesn't matter

I guess that's the closest kiid can get to admit being wrong/having lied.
But it does matter in terms of your credibility.
And why you have little to none here.

Existing-home sales exploded higher in June as home buyers took advantage of record-low mortgage rates and fled city centers beset with anti-police protests, riots, looting, crime, shootings, stay-at-home orders, shuttered businesses, closed schools, and a loss of amenities such as restaurants, theaters, and museums.

Actual documentable reason for the rise in home sales (I mean, aside from it being June...) is bolded above.   I loved how the rest of the sentence turned into this sort of all-purpose RW talking points rant about urban hellscapes and, er, having to order takeout from restaurants.  Oh, the humanity!

Quote
The latest news about short-lived coronavirus antibodies came from scientists at King’s College of London, whose study of 90 COVID-19 patients in the United Kingdom found antibody levels peaked three weeks after the onset of symptoms and then dramatically declined.

Potent antibodies were found in 60% of the patients, according to the study, but only 17% retained the same potency three months later. There is still hope that those remaining antibodies will bestow some immunity, In some cases, however, the antibodies disappeared completely, said the study which was published as a preprint Saturday, meaning it has not yet been peer-reviewed.

Quote
A Chinese study published June 18 in the journal Nature Medicine also showed coronavirus antibodies taking a nosedive. The study of 74 patients, conducted by Chongqing Medical University, a branch of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, showed that more than 90% exhibited sharp declines in the number of antibodies within two to three months after infection.

Quote
The major question is whether there are memory B cells induced by the vaccine (or an infection) so that re-exposure to the virus or viral proteins will induce the return of antibodies.”

Others noted that the human immune system also uses T cells to fight off viruses. A T cell response may not require as many antibodies to be effective. Also possible is the use of periodic boosters to prolong the effects of a vaccine.

Can't speak for other cities, but COVID is leading to New Yorkers considering moves to the burbs.  The perception is that its safer when the next one hits to be somewhere less densely populated and its a calculation that not only residents are making, but also companies looking for office space that have the option of setting up a campus further out.

And yes, in New York where the city vs. suburbia calculation is always cultural amenities vs. more space and a back yard, when the city can't offer those cultural amenities then the calculation changes.  Being able to remote work vs. commute another factor.

What is not a factor is the BLM protests REDSTATEWARD (or the Breitbart piece he is cribbing from) want to also blame for residents "fleeing" from the city.  I can say with confidence that it isn't "riots and looting" leading to people leaving because there really hasn't been any.  There have been protests which have the widespread support of the communities they are happening in.

The economy in California is a strong economy, and we have the world's 5th leading economy...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Economy_of_California

But it can be better, and we need to help the homeless, etc. We also need to better prepare the children so that they can afford to live in California when they grow up, we need to prepare them for jobs at the movie studios, and for jobs at Disneyland, etc. We also need for China to buy our products, we need to sell wine and cheese and orange juice and stuff to China.

Salute,

Tony V.

Hard to tell the truth when you don't have the foggiest what it is and cannot bring yourself to admit it, Ms. McEnany.

Quote
Washington (CNN)President Donald Trump said he doesn't know of a time he's taken more than one coronavirus test in a day, directly contradicting his press secretary in the first question of his press briefing Tuesday.

"I don't know about more than one," Trump responded to a reporter who asked why he was tested more than once a day. "I do probably on average a test every two days, three days, and I don't know of any time I've taken two in one day, but I could see that happening."
Speaking during a morning briefing just hours earlier, press secretary Kayleigh McEneny described Trump as the "most tested man in America" who doesn't risk spreading the virus to others.
"He's tested more than anyone, multiple times a day," she said. "And we believe that he's acting appropriately."

Clearly misspoke - and she would admit it

Happens to the best - even C J Cregg one time.

(a) "misspoke" = she had no idea what the facts were. She will not admit that.

(b) CJ Cregg remains fictional. And when she was set up to lie to the media she got angry. No signs of anger on McEnany's part.

The U.S. has agreed to pay Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech  nearly $2 billion to secure 100 million doses of their experimental Covid-19 vaccine to provide to Americans free of charge.

Under the $1.95 billion agreement, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Defense Department will receive 100 million doses of the vaccine should it be cleared by regulators, and can also acquire an additional 500 million doses. The vaccine, which has shown promising preliminary results in small groups of patients, is set to enter late-stage testing this month.

And if it works, that would be lovely, except for the whole "this is a worldwide problem and dealing with it in a piecemeal way is stupid and long term disastrous."

"We will NOT shrink from our duty!"

-  Chad Wolf, re:  Portland issue

Wolf in an interview on Fox said his forces are making “proactive arrests” in Portland.

Tell me a way to interpret that statement that doesn’t point to it being a blatantly unconstitutional abuse.

Those arrested have made moves on officers or on the federal property

If you have information that contradicts this let us know.

It's like you cannot understand the quote.

They were arrested before they did anything illegal.

Socialist cocksuckers.  Right, Red?
Just the opposite.
The opposite?
If it was socialism the government would own the production of the vaccine.

If only you applied that knowledge to the rest of your bogus socialism claims.

Someone should ask Trump to explain why 5 months into the epidemic things are getting worse.

Not that I recommend this as a motivation, but...

You have not yet come to grips with the consequences of this exodus. You won't like it.

And the thing they are escaping far more than the extremely limited events described is the incidence of COVID in a densely populated area.
