The latest news about short-lived coronavirus antibodies came from scientists at King’s College of London, whose study of 90 COVID-19 patients in the United Kingdom found antibody levels peaked three weeks after the onset of symptoms and then dramatically declined.

Potent antibodies were found in 60% of the patients, according to the study, but only 17% retained the same potency three months later. There is still hope that those remaining antibodies will bestow some immunity, In some cases, however, the antibodies disappeared completely, said the study which was published as a preprint Saturday, meaning it has not yet been peer-reviewed.

A Chinese study published June 18 in the journal Nature Medicine also showed coronavirus antibodies taking a nosedive. The study of 74 patients, conducted by Chongqing Medical University, a branch of the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, showed that more than 90% exhibited sharp declines in the number of antibodies within two to three months after infection.

The major question is whether there are memory B cells induced by the vaccine (or an infection) so that re-exposure to the virus or viral proteins will induce the return of antibodies.”

Others noted that the human immune system also uses T cells to fight off viruses. A T cell response may not require as many antibodies to be effective. Also possible is the use of periodic boosters to prolong the effects of a vaccine.

Can't speak for other cities, but COVID is leading to New Yorkers considering moves to the burbs.  The perception is that its safer when the next one hits to be somewhere less densely populated and its a calculation that not only residents are making, but also companies looking for office space that have the option of setting up a campus further out. 

And yes, in New York where the city vs. suburbia calculation is always cultural amenities vs. more space and a back yard, when the city can't offer those cultural amenities then the calculation changes.  Being able to remote work vs. commute another factor.

What is not a factor is the BLM protests REDSTATEWARD (or the Breitbart piece he is cribbing from) want to also blame for residents "fleeing" from the city.  I can say with confidence that it isn't "riots and looting" leading to people leaving because there really hasn't been any.  There have been protests which have the widespread support of the communities they are happening in.

"I don't know about more than one," Trump responded to a reporter who asked why he was tested more than once a day. "I do probably on average a test every two days, three days, and I don't know of any time I've taken two in one day, but I could see that happening."
Speaking during a morning briefing just hours earlier, press secretary Kayleigh McEneny described Trump as the "most tested man in America" who doesn't risk spreading the virus to others.
"He's tested more than anyone, multiple times a day," she said. "And we believe that he's acting appropriately."

The U.S. has agreed to pay Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech  nearly $2 billion to secure 100 million doses of their experimental Covid-19 vaccine to provide to Americans free of charge.

Under the $1.95 billion agreement, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the Defense Department will receive 100 million doses of the vaccine should it be cleared by regulators, and can also acquire an additional 500 million doses. The vaccine, which has shown promising preliminary results in small groups of patients, is set to enter late-stage testing this month.

And if it works, that would be lovely, except for the whole "this is a worldwide problem and dealing with it in a piecemeal way is stupid and long term disastrous."
