Note that the police response neglected the fact that while they claimed there was a strong scent of marijuana, there was none found when they searched the car.

Also, since then, pot has been decriminalized in VA, though possession is still a ticketable offense. When it was still criminal, the overwhelming majority of the 27,000 arrests for pot in 2018 were of Black people.

That’s exactly what it’s there for. Nixon’s flunkies have long ago spilled the beans on the drug war being the cryptofascist response to the Hippies and minorities having all of the moral high ground and growing popular support.
