The New York City Board of Elections disqualified 84,208 vote-by-mail ballots — 26% of the total cast — in the June 23 Democratic presidential primary, according to a report cited Wednesday evening by the New York Post.

The Post reported:

The city BOE received 403,213 mail-in ballots for the June 23 Democratic presidential primary.

But the certified results released Wednesday revealed that only 318,995 mail-in ballots were counted.

That’s means 84,208 ballots were not counted or invalidated — 26 percent of the total.

One out of four mail-in ballots were disqualified for arriving late, lacking a postmark or failing to include a voter’s signature, or other defects.

Votes are still being counted from the June 23 primary, where several close elections were only decided weeks later.

Earlier on Wednesday, Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-NY) declared victory — more than six weeks later — over her primary challenger.

New York State encouraged voters to vote by mail rather than in person, citing the risk of coronavirus.

Nearly 2 million voters statewide requested mail-in ballots, and the system was overwhelmed, according to an earlier report by NBC-4 New York that described “a tidal wave of absentee ballots that overwhelmed a system which typically handles only around 5% of the vote,” and fears of “disenfranchisement.”

Well, we’ll just have to gear up for the general, right?

This is America, remember when we were a ‘Can Do’ nation?

Oh, right.

Obama said, “Yes we can!”

and John Dobbie Boehner, The crying drunk of the House bellowed, “Oh no you can’t!”

Everything you guys touch turns to shit. Especially this experiment in Democracy.

91 folks infected after a church service. A man attended who was positive. 53 got it from him at the service. 18 of those, at least, spread it to others.

Six students and one staff member tested positive for the coronavirus. According to Coombs, 116 students that have been considered in "close contact" of a positive case have been sent home to quarantine for 14 days.

Everything is going well.

This was in July. I didn't see this in the US press. Because it was the Mail? Or for other more nefarious reasons?!

Ghislaine Maxwell 'has tapes of two prominent US politicians having sex with minors' and boasted of 'owning' powerful people, former friend and jewel thief claims

Only two?! Hmph.

He said he saw clips of 'celebrities' and 'world figures' having 'orgies with minors'

Tells me that neither you nor the NY Post can do arithmetic.

They invalidated 21% of the total, Ward.

They counted almost 80% of the total.

Still, way too many.
Say goodnight Gracie.

This is a good time to remember the Mayor in Jaws was still the Mayor in JawsII.

“This is a huge, foolish mistake to make to host the rally this year," Sturgis resident Lynelle Chapman told city counselors at a June meeting. “The government of Sturgis needs to care most for its citizens.”

In a survey of residents conducted by the city, more than 60% said the rally should be postponed. But businesses pressured the City Council to proceed.”

Now kiidcarter8 has to support the bomb theory because Trump said it was a bomb before he had any idea what he was talking about.

No.  He didn't

I'll take the correction.  He said it was an attack before he had any idea what he was talking about.

Which is even further away from the most likely scenario at the moment.

“We all have the right to make a living.

Not when what you do for a living puts the health of others at risk, no.

We all have the right to actually do what we want to do as Americans.

Nope.

We are promised liberty,”

One of the many areas where Libertarianism falls apart is the definition of "Liberty" this person has put forward.

“They have actually put such oppressive restrictions on us that it’s just unacceptable to us.”

Of course closing down gyms are unacceptable to gym owners.  Like closing down movie theaters is unacceptable to theater owners.  Like closing down bars is unacceptable to bar owners.  Why is this a worthwhile point of view?

The question is actually if these restrictions are in fact "oppressive" which of course they are not.  The restrictions aren't being imposed to oppress the rights of gym owners.  Gym owners are not an oppressed minority that the man has now decided to keep down.  Their gyms are closed because they are an environment where a deadly virus will easily spread.  Its really fucking simple.

And the people who don't get it are just stupid, sorry.  And the people who quote their ramblings as if they have value are just as stupid, sorry.
