There was violence on both sides.
There are some "very fine people, on both sides."
Right, genius?

I was responding to another false accusation that I said there was no Arab violence against Jews pre-Israel founding.  You don't think there was both Arab and Jewish violence prior to and just after the founding of Israel?  So don't pull out some Trump BS quote to denigrate me.  Try arguing honestly with facts.

There were many Palestinians who fled the fighting and other Palestinians who were forced out of their villages/homes.  These are the Palestinian refugees seeking a right to return.

The only way to stop it, and be heard,... is thru Peace, love and the law.

Peace never gets to "and be heard."

NEVER.

Peace does get heard...in the courts, legislatures. Laws are made by elected officials.
Thurgood Marshall showed it clearly.

Trouble with the BLM protests...some elected officials seem to think that the violence was/ is good.

Look where violence got the two young lawyers...their whole lives ruined...if only they'd stayed home.

He would never have been where he was if the Black folks in America had practiced what you preach.

I am done talking to you, as many have advised me.

Your choice.

If only the two young lawyers had stayed home and studied their law books instead of how to make and throw Molotov cocktails...they could've spent the coming decades doing good.
Instead they got sucked into the violence many told them was the only way for change.
Will you be going to visit them in prison...to comfort them as their wasted lives decline?

A hysterical argument and a poor reflection on your education.
If you even had one.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/08/08/politics/trump-executive-order-stimulus/index.html

Just the weest bit of overreach.

Doesn't matter whether I approve of this order or disapprove of that order.

He doesn't have the power to make this happen - or at least, under any prior SCOTUS he didn't. I don't think he will this time, either.
Oh?

Do you disagree?

So then Nancy and Chuck should sue.
I’m sure Americans will be proud of them denying everyday folks help in a pandemic.

Do you disagree with me, Ward?

It's a pretty simple question.

And McConnell ought to sue, too.
Why would McConnell sue?
It’s Nancy and Chuck that Trump just raised the stakes on.

Pretty slick move by Trump to portray himself as aiding the unemployed and the Dems trying to prevent it.

When in reality the Dems wanted $3T in assistance and were willing to drop to $2T, but the GOP only was willing to go up to $1T.

Wonder whose idea these exec orders were.  McConnell's?  I have trouble believing Trump or his hacks thought of this (though I guess it's possible).

Othersowise, I'll try to put ME posts in the dedicated ME thread.  I thought that was best last go round but forgot to do it.  Sorry for cluttering up the politics thread this is with ME politics.

Bozo the clown does disaster capitalism, borrowing some baseline numbers from the dems last offer to figleaf the gutting of safety nets when they’ll be needed most.

I used to think trump should be shot. Now I think he should be buried head down in manure till he drowns. I guess that makes me a persuadable voter this cycle.

Democrats had said they would lower their spending demands from $3.4 trillion to $2 trillion but said the White House needed to increase their offer. Republicans have proposed a $1 trillion plan.

Trump hasn't done one thing right in 9 months.
This seems like an actual clever political ploy.
Wondering where it came from?
Credit to Trump for latching on.

Among the list of things I hate...is:

Minimum sentences...so cruel.

Minimum 35 years in federal prison for tossing a Molotov cocktail into an abandoned, already damaged police car?
Ridiculously harsh.

America's sentences for some crimes, breaches of the law, are way too harsh.
Horribly harsh.

Attempted murder of a cop?

Yeah, that law we passed was whack.

Red's perfectly fine with Trump's exercising dictatorial powers rather than negotiate with Congress.

Reminds him of his care-free youth in Bavaria.

Separately the USPS, is raising the rates on states on mail-in ballots from bulk rates to 1st class rates ($0.20 v $0.55)

Trump triples the cost of voting in a naked ploy of attempted voter supression.

He's a piece of shit.

https://politicalwire.com/2020/08/08/postal-service-hikes-rates-to-mail-ballots

“The Postal Service has informed states that they’ll need to pay first-class 55-cent postage to mail ballots to voters, rather than the normal 20-cent bulk rate. That nearly triples the per-ballot cost at a time when tens of millions more will be delivered. The rate change would have to go through the Postal Regulatory Commission and, undoubtedly, litigation. But the time frame for that is incredibly short, as ballots go out very soon.”
