Well, there are different kinds of tests. So that might explain the situation.

You run a quick antigen test, which should give results in 30 mins or less.
Positive results are very accurate, but false negatives can be an issue. Then you follow that up with a nucleic acid test, which are highly accurate.  Should be able to get results same day, but Biden probably should quarantine for most of a day to keep everyone safe.

It's the most sensible way to do things.  Get a fast result and then double-check it with a more exacting test.  Two tests basically eliminate the false result (mainly a false negative) problem.

Well, welcome to Trump's world.

The issue is that Trump not only did nothing to stop the virus, but Trump was actively harmful, by trying to force open Blue states, encouraging Red States to reopen prematurely, constantly disdaining face masks and turning their use into a political issue, promoting miracle cures that don't work, sidelining his health experts, bringing in a herd mentality ghoul such as Dr. Atlas, and constantly politicizing what should have been a health emergency.

Otherwise there are plenty of answers way better than what trump has done.  Such as having a coordinated national strategy for testing and tracing.  Supporting and promoting mask usage.  Improving testing efficiency so folks get results as close to same day as possible.

The virus is not actually hard to stop -- we understand quite well its transmission and how to negate it.

I figured you don't go to the hospital or take unproven antivirals unless you have at least moderate or significant symptoms.  And at Trump's age and weight, things might easily turn worse.  he's in the early infected stage.

I'm hoping Trump the Bozo gets the full BoJo and gets a pretty good scare, can't campaign anymore, and comes out of it much more willing to fight the virus for the remaining 3.5 months of his term.  Unlikely, but that would be a good outcome and save lives.

They made a show of their wearing masks, with some even taking backstage selfies with their masks on... before taking them off to go sit in the audience. We even see it at the end, when the spouses come up to the state, Mrs. Trump with her face hanging out for all to see and Dr. Biden masked. Yet the masked one gave and received a warm embrace, while the First Lade and her husband exchange a pat.

As you have pointed out, at least you wear masks when legally required to, which puts you ahead of the Patient-in-Chief and his family and staff, who have repeatedly broken the laws of places they have been, including their "Fuck that" moment in Cleveland.
