Early votes will be counted later than poll votes,  so many states will see the blue shift effect.   A lot of early results are very skewed.   In some states mail votes won't be counted until starting tomorrow.   I wouldn't trust any proclamations tonight.

I think there will be no proclamations tonight about the presidential race.

And a couple states won't be determined until Thursday or Friday.

Wait. A few days, at least.

Arizona, Georgia, Nebraska’s 2nd, and the Blue Wall should keep this from getting 2016 ugly.

Should be able to vote online.

That may very well explain Florida.

Where's the good news for the Left?

AZ for Biden
Sen. Hickenlooper in CO
Legal weed in NJ

... and a chance Biden wins.

Another underperform for the Dems.

Maybe they needed a better candidate folks were actually excited about.
Dems usually go for the bland establishment candidate (Mondale, Gore, Kerry, Hillary).  The two exceptions when the Dems ran outsiders who generated enthusiasm-- Clinton and Obama -- were both winning plays.  All the establishment candidates lost.  Sure it's not easy to find political stars, but enthusiasm matters.

Otherwise:
Biden should have talked up the Obama economy more.  And the Bill Clinton economy.  And made the case that the Dems run the economy better.

Tied his much improved handling of CV-19 with opening the economy sooner and better.

Also should have campaigned with Jill more, as she is smart, appealing and looks a lot more youthful than Ol' Joe.

And should have spent more time in MI and WI and PA, the three states that again will determine the election.  Close n NC, GA and FL is nice but still = losing.  Just win those 3 midwest states and it was a wrap.  Same as last go for Hillary.

Another huge 4-year *SIGH*

Best scenario wight now is Biden still pulls through and survives all the Trump legal challenges in PA.  And a 50-50 Senate.  So could still be a DEM sweep by the barest of margins (in what should have been a landslide year).

If Biden is to win it will be thru the count of the mail in ballots.

I’d very happily take that outcome at this point. It gives us two years to rip out the right wing communications network root and branch.

First thing first, trump is a sick mad bastard who must be stopped.

If the Dems best candidates are women, blacks and gays, it might be tough to win the presidency until the next generation rises up in 15-20 years.  Though the disastrous  GOP presidents keep trying to help DEMs win.

Where are the white males who might run in 2024 for the Dems?

They had been counting on the New South for some time, but Edwards self-immolated and Kaine came up small.  Any white male pols rising in the Midwest?  Seems mostly female Dems rising there (Whitmer, Duckworth, Baldwin).

I guess looking to the liberal NE, there's Cuomo with a shot -- did a terrible job initially with the virus, but then showed compassion and humanity while significantly improving his CV handling.  Beto is just 48 but his resume is only 3 terms as a congressman.

Simple truth is it's easier to WIN when your candidate is a white male and doesn't have to overcome sexism and/or racism.

The key political event in the last few months was RBG dying and Trump exciting his base and other conservatives by locking up the Supreme Court.

About the only thing Trump accomplished this year.  And likely reminded many on the Right why they put up with his boorishness and clown show.
