"Whose street?"
"Our street!"

Yeah, no disrespect for non-whites there, huh?

Then-VP Gore conceding the election after the Supreme Court ruled against him narrowly, "for the sake of our democracy."

Don't hold your breath waiting for Trump to do the same.

I don’t mind this as a starting point.

Deregulation and leasing and public funding in the trump era should be examined as well.

NYS and NYC can start the criminal proceedings against trump org and it’s principals.

Catching up...Fac's school reading list --.if my HS had such, I might have read Gravity's Rainbow.   At this point,  I feel like that window of opp is gone.   Maybe.   The other Tom (Robbins) is quite readable - still grateful for his observation that the first amoeba is still alive.

Outright book banning is a powerful stimulus to curious young readers -- sort of an offshoot of what psychs call The Streisand Effect.
I've started "Gravity's Rainbow" ten or so times and never came close to finishing. I just rest on my laurels for having completed "Infinite Jest."

On the issue of the police...

There needs to be more programs to deal with things, and the police should be responsible only for law enforcement and peace keeping. There can be social workers to deal with the homeless people. There can be crowd control to deal with crowds. There can be mental health people to deal with mental health issues. There can be special people for drug issues, and special places where drug addicts can get help, etc. And there can be more Crisis Intervention Specialists, etc. There can be specialized people who can take the pressure off of the police. The duties of the police can be reduced to law enforcement and peacekeeping.

One time there was a little teenage gang member living next door, and one day he went out on their balcony and he shot the windows out of the cars in the parking lot. I was on my balcony, and I watched him do it. So, I made him stop, and then I told the manager of the apartment complex, and his mother bought everyone new windows for their cars, and then they had to move out of the apartment. The police were never called, we dealt with everything here on our own. The poor kid would have sure went to Juvenile Hall, and he would have had a criminal record, but instead his Mom dealt with him. There was no need to call the cops, we dealt with it.

The press will say that Biden saved us from the pandemic.
Biden will say, "I did?", and they will say,
"Yes, Mr. President."
To which Biden will say, "I am?"
