https://www.cnn.com/2021/01/02/politics/senate-republicans-electoral-college/index.html

12 traitors have identified themselves in the US Senate (and next Senate).

They continue to preach helping Americans to have faith in the election, despite the fact that the only reason that so many of their party members have doubts is that their party has been spreading it for years, falsely.

And we know in advance, as surely as we know with Ward and Kid, that they will either rig it to say what they want if they can or they will deny its conclusions if it disagrees with what they want.

This is as predictable as Lucy's holding the football for Charlie Brown.

The republican party is purely criminal enterprise. They are by definition against the law.

Hey, GA GOP folks - no point in voting. Trump says this is all illegal and invalid, so I am sure he will get the results tossed.

More drama?

Yay.....

As log as we get some things squared away for 2022 and beyond

TRUMP again doing the nation a great service in sticking to his guns.
What, specifically, needs to be squared away? Trump has been lying about the election and lying a out the evidence for months before he got his ass.whipped. Every single.lawsuit he brought has been tossed out of court, either because there is no evidence or 9n the formerly conservative principles that states run their own ection. The only thing to be squared away is hauling Trump's ass out of the bully pulpit.

For the first time in 144 years we have a loser who refuses to admit he lost and he is trying to overthrow the legitimate results of a free and fair election. He and his  anti democracy followers need to be identified, remembered and eliminated at the ballot box.

I’m still working this through - can I assume anyone who (a) was “elected” in this cycle but (b) claims the election results are not valid will (c) decline to be sworn in tomorrow?

Good Tom Partridge quote.

I guess we should thank the dirty dozen in the Senate,  since they are striving to assure us all of the legitimacy of Biden's presidency.

What is “ anti democratic” about challenging the results of an election?
It has been done many times and none have been successful at the Presidential level.
What is “ anti democratic “ is blaming a winning candidate for colluding with a foreign government to illegally interfere in an election with absolutely no proof.

What is “ anti democratic “ is becoming a winning candidate by colluding with a foreign government to illegally interfere in an election with blatantly televised proof.

But that’s so 2016.

I have a book recommendation for all and sundry:

https://www.cbc.ca/radio/sunday/the-sunday-magazine-for-september-13-2020-1.5718668/immunity-vaccination-and-the-common-good-a-prescient-book-is-helping-people-make-sense-of-the-pandemic-1.5720342

"Dr. Eula Biss's 2014 book On Immunity: An Inoculation explores that apprehension, and many are turning to it to understand the anxieties around vaccination today."

It comes highly recommended by my favorite worker in this field. This is an article about the book, but also about the current pandemic.

So what's Trump's end game here?
I can see the value to Trump of contesting to the end, so that he can continue to fundraise off of a "stolen election" and
maintain the fiction he won.  But does he have any actual hope or avenue of staying in office?
Is there any way that they can muck up the Electoral College certification enough that they can bring a lawsuit directly to the Supreme Court
where Trump has all along counted on having backing?  That was the early Trump end strategy, and the trumpeters
don't really do plan B's well.  They stick to their first mucky goal.
There's already the precedent (read: non-precedent) of the Supreme Court intervening to give a disputed election to the GOP, which I didn't imagine possible until it happened.
So my Q: is there any way Trump stops Bidne form taking over?
