Obama's guy would have been a better POTUS - just not sure he'd have won.

Given there's no link, would anyone care to tell us who Obama preferred?   My memory of the primary race was of O not wanting to put his thumb on the scale.

Bernie?

Candace Owens, conservative commentator and co-founder of BLEXIT, took to Twitter Saturday to condemn a bill under consideration in California’s legislature that would ban "boy" and "girl" signage in large retail stores.

"California has proposed a bill to ban boys and girls sections in toy and clothing stores to create a 'safe space' for children," Owens tweeted Saturday. "They want to fine retailers 1,000$ for using the words ‘boy’ and ‘girl’ I cannot put into words how positively despicable Democrat politicians are

This all seems to be guided by some rather tenuously supported theories of child development and gender identity.   We need to have a real national conversation about what psychologists actually know about human gender and the developmental stage of bonding with a gender group.   It doesn't have to exclude the small percent who may lie outside those groups,  but I don't think we have to erase the sexes just so things aren't weird for them.

I'd factcheck the story,  though.   Owens is known for getting her facts wrong,  and having tweets mysteriously vanish.

Low said that he was inspired by Target’s 2015 decision to abolish gendered kids sections.

“As much as I’d like to think of this as watershed legislation, this is something the industry is already doing. We’re just trying to play catch up,” he said.

Low said he also took inspiration for the bill from a staffer’s 9-year-old daughter, who wanted to know why she had to go into the “boys” aisle to find science-related toys.

Makes a fair point in support of just having a toy section,  without bothering to categorize.

However,  removing gender signage for clothes makes less sense to me.   I notice Target hasn't gone that far.

Looks at how anti-Trump conservatives are supporting democratization.

https://nymag.com/intelligencer/2021/03/how-never-trumpers-are-becoming-pro-democracy-republicans.html

Any bill to expand voting rights would be subject to a filibuster and stand no chance of enactment in any form. Therefore, democratization requires eliminating or at least scaling back the filibuster, which is itself an impediment to democracy. Several anti-Trump conservatives, like Max Boot and David Brooks, have already endorsed this step.

Gary Schmitt, a scholar at the American Enterprise Institute and the former executive director of the neoconservative Project for the New American Century, has argued that the Senate filibuster prevents rather than enables deliberation and debate. Schmitt made this case four years ago and reiterated it last month.

If only the anti-Trump senators had gotten that far with any consistency.

Heritage Action for America, a conservative nonprofit tied to the right-leaning think tank The Heritage Foundation, on Monday will announce that it plans to spend $10 million on efforts to tighten election security laws in eight key swing states.

The details of the effort, first obtained by Fox News, will include digital and television ads, volunteer issue advocacy campaigns and lobbying state legislatures directly. Heritage Action will target Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, Texas and Wisconsin, all considered key swing states after the 2020 election.

"Fair elections are essential for every policy debate in the future," Heritage Action Executive Director Jessica Anderson said in a statement. "We are working to help state lawmakers restore trust in our elections, ensure transparency, and protect the rights of every American to a fair election. This is our number one priority, and we are committed to doing whatever it takes."

Let's go!!!

As to "fair," I do not think that word means what they or you think it means.

Otherwise, they would be putting more effort into stopping gerrymandering than into this nonsense.

The single biggest way to restore trust in our elections is for each and every member of the GOP and, especially, the faux-news industry to admit that they were lying when they repeatedly claimed that the election was stolen from Trump and that they did it for the sole purpose of trying to steal the election and to undermine the ability of Democrats to win elections in the future.

But since "fair elections" would be the farthest thing from what they and you want, that is not going to happen.
