They don’t.
But even if they did so what?

One hyphenated word for all you who fail to realize the gravity of the shutdown situation---

Beer-mergency.

“BUILD THE WALL! BUILD THE WALL!”

heh

Suckers.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/12/us/drug-traffickers-el-chapo-trial-drugs-across-border/index.html

Not sure what you are trying to prove.  The war on drugs coming in from Mexico isnt just about the wall.

If there weren't millions[maybe tens of millions] of Americans clamouring to take money out of their pockets, buy illegal drugs from the dealers/cartels and consume the illegal drugs, with not so much as the first clue as to what the drugs could be...there wouldn't be any drug trade.

In an episode of SWAT on my tv last night...it showed that many high school and college kids in America die from consuming drugs coming in over the Mexican border.
Build that wall!
Save America's children!

Blind squirrel and all that...

Without demand there’d be no supply. So why not spend billions in dealing with those internal societal issues that compel millions, maybe tens of millions, to self medicate?

Legalize recreational drugs and regulate them like alcohol. Treat addiction as a disease and move funds from drug enforcement and interdiction to mental health and treatment.

Requires a more hopeful perspective rather than the way you, Red and kid view the world.
Bambu attains his "knowledge" of complex U.S. issues through shows like SWAT. Kid from West Wing. Red from vintage 1950's copies of the Saturday Evening Post.

I'll take a guess and say that "America is as Australia is":

https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/news/nsw/music-festival-drug-deaths-what-pills-do-to-teenagers-bodies/news-story/1920a7ef8a5b282dc66c602ad1014aba

Music festival drug deaths: What pills do to teenage bodies

Pill-popping party ravers are cooking their bodies like eggs and risk a toxic shutdown of their internal organs, a leading NSW toxicologist warned in the wake of the latest dance tragedy.

“All of these drugs fundamentally alter the way the body normally regulates its temperature to start with,” he said.

“So you can get high temperatures just from the drug. Then, if you combine that with the high ambient temperature, that’s a problem. If you increase physical activity, that’s a problem. And if you get dehydrated and unable to sweat and cool yourself - also a problem. So, this is why a concert is such a high risk situation for taking these drugs and particularly when people push the dose up into taking more than one tablet.”

Professor Dawson said in the case of bubbly 19-year-old Alex Ross-King, it can be too late once a person presents to the medical team.

“(When) temperature goes above 40 degrees, you can deteriorate to the extent of having a cardiac arrest well within a half an hour,” he said.

The young woman went to the festival's medical tent feeling unwell only moments before she collapsed, Nine News reported.

Her friends believe it was a mixture of drugs and extreme heat that killed her.
She had been dancing in the blistering 35C sun with a crowd of more than 11,000 other people.

More than a third of the 146 people searched by police for drugs were found with illicit substances in their possession.
'Everywhere I looked people were on drugs and drinking a lot of alcohol so it’s scary that it could be one of my friends next,' one festival-goer said.

Ms Ross-King's is the fifth person to die from suspected drug overdose at New South Wales music festivals in the past four months.

They've been told a million times...they think they know everything and simply will not listen.
Drug dealers are only too happy to sell them illegal drugs.
The dead are dead, took the risk and paid with their lives.
It's their families I feel sorry for...their lovely children gone forever.

After the drug death of the young woman at the concert in Sydney the other day, a woman rang the radio and said that the young people who'd died recently had no one to blame but themselves, that they'd seen others die in the last few months, but still bought and consumed illegal drugs..."personal responsibility".

"Say NO to drugs" is the message from the govt, cops, etc.
Many ravers say "YES" instead and consume pills sold to them by dealers.
And the drug trade rolls on...funded by no-idea users.

A never ending supply of customers for the criminal organisations to make huge profits from.

Build that wall...to stop drugs getting into America and killing no-idea drug users.

photo; Anti-US and anti-Israel Iranians during a November hate rally

AUSTRALIA IS ‘OUT OF THE QUESTION’ … FOR NOW

Iranian-American Sohrab Ahmari meets Afghan and Iranian men in Istanbul as they plan their country-shopping adventures:

The migrants I spoke to passionately debated where to settle once they made it to mainland Europe, almost like a family weighing up various vacation destinations.
Same process, different duration.

Finland was ‘too cold, and they don’t pay much welfare’, said one. Switzerland was too expensive. And by picking Europe, the men had ruled out other destinations.

Oz, for example, was out of the question: they had heard that Australian authorities divert illegals to Papua New Guinea, .....
...this at least shows that Australian border protection policies are working.

A consensus formed around Britain, mainly because most of them spoke at least a little English. But they also knew the Channel crossing was no easy feat. In reality, most of them would end up in Germany or Sweden.

Unlike the Afghans, Iranians can’t claim to be fleeing war and the Taliban. So they either pretend to be Afghan (not difficult) …
It’s especially not difficult when you discard any identifying documents, which was a common strategy during Australia’s catastrophic open-border years.

#####

It became difficult when Aussie woke up to what was going on.

'Anti-US hate rally'?
Oh dear.

Was Iran on Trump's immigration and travel ban list that the American people rejected?

Beer-mergency.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/government-shutdown-brewing-trouble-america-s-craft-beer-makers-n957751

Solar flares and crumpled magnetospheres pale by comparison.

Remember that American politicians use to garner votes by providing people with free beer.

Is the POTUS a witting or unwitting foreign asset working for In interests of Russia?

As heard on WOR this morning

Yes.  The President is both a fool - as you have painted him - and an evil genius.

Something to be aware of....

Quote
“The country needs a credible resolution of these issues,” he added. “If confirmed, I will not permit partisan politics, personal interests, or any other improper consideration to interfere with this or any other investigation.”

But Mr. Barr also included a subtle caveat, limiting his assurances about the Mueller investigation to the issues under his control: “I can assure you that, where judgments are to be made by me, I will make those judgments based solely on the law and will let no personal, political, or other improper interests influence my decision,” he wrote.

That qualification could be important because Mr. Barr has long advanced a philosophy of strong executive powers under which any administration decision is ultimately the president’s to make. His views also include the notion that the president is the nation’s top law-enforcement official, not the attorney general....
- NYT, 1/14/19

A little chilling.  Sounds like Dick Cheney's "unitary executive" all over again.

What's a Trump Presidency done for the the economy of Russia compared to the economy of the USA?

I asked a yes or no question.

Because if you want to go on a tangent about economies ask about the lifting of economic sanctions against Russia...

Mexican fentanyl

This is the tip of the iceberg

https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/13/health/california-mass-drug-overdose/index.html

The article doesn’t say shit about Mexico.

The China connection
US officials are unequivocal that China is the main source for fentanyl and similar drugs.
In October 2017, the US authorities announced the first ever indictments against two Chinese individuals for conspiracy "to distribute large quantities" of fentanyl as well as other opioids.

Mexico gets fentanyl from CHINA.

This is the progression:
https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-news/longest-government-shutdown/h_59d04398280b016a342d03183eda9f61

We were at one senator. Now we're at three.

They are all up for re-election. There are 31 more senatorial elections to be held in November of 2020.

22 of the 34 are GOP seats. How many of those do you suppose are willing to sacrifice themselves on this proposed monument to Trump's ego? How many of them actually believe their own rhetoric about the wall? And how many, even in the unlikely event that they have principled convictions about the Wall, are going to put their principles ahead of reelection?
