Trump just can’t/won’t protect the nation’s secrets. Can’t keep his trap shut and pulls stupid shit out of his ass to impress the foreign dictator club members.

Ya think?   The clue in such matters is, as always, the word "acting" in the official's title.   Nothing like larding your administration with unvetted lackeys!

Even better, Maguire turned to the Justice Department for guidance on whether or not he needed to fulfill his legal obligation to turn the complaint over to Congress.  Yeah.  Thats where you should go to get an impartial legal opinion.

Other side of that is the fact that the IG who made the determination that the actions behind the complaint were credible and urgent is himself a Trump appointee.  And when he saw the complaint getting stonewalled for a bullshit reason, he informed congress of the existence of the complaint directly.   So we should feel positive about the fact that at least some people Trump hires can do their job.

And concerned that if even a Trump appointee finds Trump's actions disturbing...

So..... we dont hear much about caravans these days....

You mean Republican officials are not currently trying to scare people with the word?

Wait until we get closer to the election.

Glad to hear the "national emergency" is over though.  So why "delay" much needed Pentagon projects for some wall?

Migrants are still coming to the southern border to legally request asylum?  Yes.

You were told in real time that the threat posed by the “caravans” was being exaggerated to scare the base into voting in the midterms, and now post-midterms you take the fact that they aren’t being talked about anymore as evidence that the Trump Administration has somehow neutralized the threat.

You are a perfect Trumpist.

A recent Harvard/Harris Poll of 2,531 registered voters used no names in presenting two agendas by potential candidates for President.
Here’s the text:

Which candidate are you more likely to vote for:

1.
“A presidential candidate who stands for the green new deal on climate change, Medicare for all, free college tuition, opening our borders to many more immigrants and raising taxes to pay for these programs.

Or …

2.
A presidential candidate who stands for lower taxes and reduced government regulations, strengthening our military, strengthening our border to reduce illegal immigrants, standing up more to China and Iran and seeking better trade deals for the US.

The result: 61% say they’d vote for Agenda 1 including 65% of Independents and every other age group except those aged18-34 who split 50-50.

Wasn't talking about any threat.  Just the numbers.  But continue being vague.  I realise you may not be in the know.

Being vague?  Sorry I can’t be specific about a threat that was made up for political reasons which we no longer hear about because it is no longer politically convenient for one party to talk about it.  Because that is what the “caravan” was.

If you want numbers on the people presenting themselves at the border for asylum, I imagine you can look those up yourself.

Down - by quite a bit.  Thus my initial statement.

lol.

Sorry, I just had to laugh.  I will address this more specifically, though.  (and I think you meant to say agenda 2 was the more popular.)  So lower taxes polls well.  Who would have thunk it, when Republicans have been riding that for decades.

But the question as posed is hilariously divorced from any real candidate proposals.  "Medicare for all" actually polls well, depending on the details.  No one is proposing "open borders" and when you look at the reality of trump Administration actually trying to reduce legal immigration only his base (about 35%) approve of that.  On raising taxes, raising them on the wealthy is actually popular.

On the other side, "reduced government regulations?"  That is not very specific.  Ask Americans about environmental regulations, for example, and they will tell you we are doing too little.  Strengthen our military?  Does someone want a weak military?  Standing up to China and Iran?  Again, is there a candidate that doesn't want to do that?  Is there a candidate whose platform is worse trade deals?

Its a dumb question.  And I'll note that the midterms were about many of these issues (particularly Healthcare and Immigration) and Republicans were slaughtered.  So there is that.
