The best I can tell is that Kid's argument is "we don't know what's going to happen" so let's go ahead and abandon the Kurds.  Because that's what Trump wants.

I guess it's kind of hard to argue with that.

I believe he does - and that's the point

We will bookmark this.  As new revelations come out re: trump's lawlessness, Mitch McConnell was aware of them all.  got it.

Disagreement on policy is not proper grounds to remove a president.

Blackmailing a foreign country, either through withheld military aid or access to our leadership (the later we know occurred, the former likely to soon be proven) to get them to announce an investigation into a political opponent that Trump would have pretended he had nothing to do with is not a fucking disagreement on policy.

I bet Kid can find an article by Rachel Campos-Duffy (straight from "The Real World"!!!) that disagrees with you.

Haley says Trump is leaving our allies in Syria to die:

https://www.cnn.com/2019/10/07/politics/nikki-haley-donald-trump-syria-troops-brett-mcgurk/index.html

Why do people assume an overwhelming military invasion will result in deaths?  kiidcarter8 assures us that is not Erdogan's intention...

Wow.  Kid takes great pride in not arguing here.  And then proceeds to make the most idiotic arguments this side of the White House.  Great work.
In other words, your typical Trump supporter. You might as well kick yourself in the nuts as waste your time arguing with them.

Haley says Trump is leaving our allies in Syria to die:

Of course there will be deaths

Its a shame we cant lobby to see the transcripts of the call with Erdogan - then maybe we'd know more of what was discussed

C'mon, Dems - get on it.  Everything should be public.  Best (and safest) way to run a nation, eh?

House is conducting an impeachment INQUIRY. To find stuff.

It’s McConnell who has declared that he will hold Trump free and clear regardless of the outcome of that inquiry.

Well, at least we Americans can be confident that our "president" is doing what is right for the country and is not acting out of political or financial self interest when allowing Turkey to slaughter our allies.

please - see both sides

Syrian refugees get to return to their nation.  In the end, a tough decision will prove prudent.

Get the fuck out here with that bullshit!

America sucks when it comes to upward mobility, when it comes to enabling folks to move up in economic/social class. We are among the worst of the so-called developed nations at this.
That  comment is absurd.
No matter how you measure wealth the US has 41% of the world’ s millionaires,  no other country has more 8 per cent. Our poverty rate shrank by 20 per cent in the last three years while our number of millionaires grew by 6 per cent. If the middle class is shrinking it because people are moving UP.  No matter what per centile of income you look at its people are richer than their parents

I would settle for the same level of financial disclosure and divestment that every other President in our history has undergone to hold that position.  In the case of our "president" at least then we would have some assurance that his kowtowing to Turkey has nothing to do with the millions he makes each year from licensing his name to two hotel towers in the country.

But given that Trump has refused that level of disclosure and divestment, and given that we know Trump runs the nation's foreign policy for his own personal benefit, yes, we should see the transcripts of the call.

And only a blind Trumpist who doesn't care one whit for our Democracy would argue otherwise.

LOL.  Upward mobility sucks in the US because so many people are becoming millionaires....

wait...

And fact check, poverty rate dropped 20% over the last five years and dropped at its fastest rate between 2014 and 2015.  But this was not the result of a long-term income equating trend, but of the country climbing out of recession.

Capitalism married with Judeo/Christian ethics is a very, very good thing.

In all of human history, no other system has lifted more people out of poverty and into the ranks of the middle class and beyond.  And no country has done a better job than the United States of America to secure the freedom of its citizens to work hard, prosper and achieve their American Dream.

Excellent piece.  Thank you, Ms Duffy

The socialism argument is bullshit designed to appeal to the very rich and to the stupid.

The wealthy, and only the wealthy, have done fantastically well over the last several decades. G.D.P. growth has been disappointing, and middle-class income growth even worse.

The American economy just doesn’t function very well when tax rates on the rich are low and inequality is sky high. It was true in the lead-up to the Great Depression, and it’s been true recently. Which means that raising high-end taxes isn’t about punishing the rich (who, by the way, will still be rich). It’s about creating an economy that works better for the vast majority of Americans

The founders would have had your boy hauled out, tarred and feathered then rode out of DC on a rail.
