Notable and Quotable.

Valentyn Nalyvaichenko, member of the Ukrainian parliament and former head of the country’s security service.

Serious allegations have been made in the U.S. and Ukraine, including that Ukrainian government officials and organizations assisted Hillary Clinton’s campaign in 2016 and that Burisma, a major Ukrainian gas company, hired Hunter Biden, Joe Biden’s son, for cynical purposes. Regardless of the implications of these charges within American politics, Ukraine has a responsibility to investigate them completely and transparently.
First, as I have insisted for more than two years, we must resolve the allegation that Ukrainian officials interfered in the 2016 U.S. presidential election. If we find that Ukrainian laws were broken, the perpetrators here must be prosecuted swiftly, to the fullest extent of the law.

Second, Ukraine must resolve the allegations regarding Burisma. As the former head of the Security Service of Ukraine, our version of the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation, I know there are many accusations of corruption against this company

Trump claimed to be putting an end to "endless wars" when he pulled a few hundred US troops from the border between Syria and Turkey, ensuring the vulnerability of key allies there to attack.

Four days later, we are sending 2,000 troops to Saudi Arabia.

Huh.

Yeah - that's called acting as Commander in Chief.  Looking at the 2 together- as related -  is idiocy.

Bill Barr pays Rupert Murdoch a visit.

Next day Shep Smith is shown the door.

Fellow Americans, your Attorney General.

I was always amused at Faux's claim (and eagerly amplified by RW fans of the network) to partisan balance made on the basis of Shep Smith and Chris Wallace.  Some reporter (at NPR, iirc) logged the total hours at Fox given to them, versus to conservative commentators, and found that independents had 8% while cons had 90%.

No quid pro quo

NEEDS upset - makes attempt to justify his feelings
A quid pro quo is not required.

Not debating that one way or the other

It's not a debate.

It's not a question.

It's not a matter of opinion.

Asking and/or accepting foreign interference in the campaign is against the law. How many times do you need that spelled out for you before you accept the truth of it?

And, again, why are you supporting the practice of inviting foreign interference in the elections?!

What the fuck are you talking about?

Idiocy is failing to see the yawning chasm between DT's words and actions.

Took me literally 20 seconds to google "bill barr rupert murdoch" and find multiple news sources reporting their meeting yesterday.   Are you really that naive?

Nothing quite so amusing as a die hard Trump finding something sinister in the idea of a foreign company ingratiating itself to American government officials by providing them or family members with economic benefits. "Hunter Biden behaved like a Trump. Details at 11."

That's cool.

I just went to CNN.  They had it, of course - because they think it makes the competition look bad

Heh.

What the fuck are you talking about?

You.

Foreign interference in our elections.

A president who has admitted asking a foreign government to interfere in our elections, regardless of quid pro quo.

Your ongoing support of him and refusal to come to grips with the fact that the president did that, while pretending there is a "debate" to which you get to pick a side.

It happened - the president did it.

It's illegal, as pointed out by the chair of the FEC.

Why are you supporting the practice of inviting foreign interference in the elections?!

Thank you for making the point all over again, Kid.

Trump pressured foreign governments to go after a political rival for political purposes.

It's illegal.

Why are you supporting the practice of inviting foreign interference in the elections?!
