Mr Trump...duly elected President of the United States by the American People...under exactly the same system as they elected Mr Obama.

Nah

Cheated - haven't you heard?

Obama's people did nothing politically crafty at all during his 2 election cycles.  Just smiled and won.

Collusion with a hostile foreign power to deceive American voters is just the type of political craftiness everyone does and is therefore ok, even though I can't show that anyone has ever done anything remotely like it.

- kiidcarter8

No collusion, just folks YELLING collusion

Dems have done far worse, historically - but that matters not at this time.

No, but Reagan and Nixon did.

And yes, both collusion and obstruction of justice.

Dick went easy on JFK.  He knew it would be his time later on.

It wasn't JFK, it was LBJ and what it was was treason.

Now fully proven.

....but Barr was not an honest man, as has been shown repeatedly since then (and many times before)

You disrespect every member of the administration - and any man running for president (should have boosted someone in the primary) on the Republican line
Then you favor them when they leave Trump's side.
Sad consistency.

Muller proved collusion in the conspiracy to defraud the United States. The Congress will be forwarding charges.

Republican senators will then have to chose between abandoning the constitution, the flag and their oaths or abandoning their broken corrupt party and it’s imploding leader.

Ruh Roh...

An associate of Rudy Giuliani -- Lev Parnas -- has initiated talks with impeachment investigators through his attorney.

The attorney, Joseph Bondy, told the team from CNN's "Anderson Cooper 360" that he had sent a letter to congressional investigators saying Parnas will comply with a congressional subpoena for his documents and testimony.

However, Bondy said he would not use the word "cooperate."

Bondy also accused President Donald Trump of falsely denying he had a relationship with Parnas.

That does seem to be where the trumpist argument is heading, that trump never won an election, has never been president, has been running a fake administration, and therefore cannot be impeached.

The standards for an office he doesn’t hold don’t apply to cuddly donald trump.

It might be the best argument the right has left.

Nice work Kiid.

I expect to hear Mark Meadows taking up your line of malarkey any day now.

Erdogan didn't like the Kurds having a high degree of autonomy next to the border with Turkley's Kurdish lands.  That's why he invaded.  To separate the Syrian Kurds  from his oppressed Kurds.

Resettling of Syrian refugees from Turkey was the cause

No.  You are mistaken.
Erdogan believes the Syrian Kurds are aiding the PKK in Turkey.  And that terrorists in Turkey can slip over the border and find safe haven in Syria.  While just the example of a de facto independent Kurish run territory next to Turkey would encourage Trukish Kurd separatists.

Erdogan has hammered at this for months and threatened to launch a major cross-border attack to keep the Syrian Kurds away from the Turkish border.  Turkey has bristled at Syrian Kurds along the border for years now.

Only as he got the Trump green light did Erdogan tack on his refugee resettlement plan.  I like how he unveiled it as humanitarian resettlement, getting Syrians back into their country.  Whereas the truth was Erdogan was eager to get these people out of Turkey, and first they'd have to ethnically cleanse Kurdish villages in Syria to do it.

The purpose of the resettlement plan ties in to the border issue and Kurds -- the goal being to move the Syrian Kurds away from the border, separating Kurds in Syria & Turkey, and providing a buffer along the border.

Trump obviously believed the US was backing the wrong horse in Syria, so he got US troops out.
US doesn't like what Turkey is doing?
Simple...hit Turkey with strong sanctions, and turn the screws tight.
Should never have given Iran back the $150 billion that was frozen.

Meanwhile, China just sips on some more tea while the Middle East wars continue.
See China taking any refugees from Syria?

Why must it always be US troops who sacrifice their lives/be maimed for life in these dumb Middle East wars?
Where's NATO- nuke-armed France, nuke-armed Britain, Germany, etc...India, Indonesia, Canada, Mexico?

Must just kill Democrats that while they struggle for a small piece of a select few debates to reach the populace, Trump gets to do these huge rallies ahead of elections one year ahead of his next.

Turn the screws on Turkey?
One problem is you don't want to have Turkey and Russia become allies.  Another is you have to decide if it's important or not to keep Turkey in NATO.

For the most part the GOP denigrates traditional allies and alliances and prefers the US going it alone, while the Dems prefer coalitions.  This has been true the past few administrations.

The US could have just told Turkey not to enter Eastern Syria.  If Trump wanted to be bold, he could have threatened Erdogan with the US would announce support for the creation of a Kurdistan if Turkey came across the border.  Basically Erdogan's qorst nightmare.  Already Iraqi Kurds operate with a high degree of autonomy and the Syrian Kurds were as well in Eastern Syria.

The US didn't say much of anything when Erdogan reignited the war on Turkish Kurds and outlawed their political parties so he could get a 2/3rds majority on Parliament and become a Putinesque dictator.  That is, Erdogan killed the peace process (and starting killing and arresting Turkish Kurds) for purely political gain.

The US also said/did very little when Erdogan bodyguard thugs beat up peaceful protesters in Washington DC.  Of course if you are a US ally, you can chop a journalist into pieces, or violate international law at will with land stealing settlements, and it's all okay.  You better believe that people in the ME understand the huge Double Standard that the US perpetuates.  Conversely, anything Assad or Iran does is almost by definition evil to the US.
