Heh.

I pray for Mr. Ciaramella's (and family's) safety, given all the web rumors that he is the whistleblower.

As for Jared, who knows?  If he did tell MBS to get Khashoggi, and Turks recorded the chat, that would indeed give leverage to get Trump to step aside at the Syrian border.  It's worth asking, though, if Trump is really responsive to conventional sorts of leverage.  He keeps committing political suicide, often on a near-daily basis, and somehow remains alive and adored by his brigade of zombies, so he may think that magic extends to his family members as well.  "Sure, Jared told MBS to whack the sonofabitch!  He was just joking, of course!  Why's everybody so uptight about this?  Sad!"

If there is evidence out there that Jared passed on confidential info to the Saudis he goes to jail.  If there is evidence out there that Trump knew Jared was passing off confidential info the Saudis and did nothing, or even supported it, that would be straight forward impeachable.

Now I guess you could certainly argue that Trump is protected from straight forward impeachable actions by a GOP Congress that sees no behavior as below their protection (Ukraine is proving that out) but I don't think that protection extends to Kushner.  And I do think Trump is motivated to prevent his son-in-law from going to jail.

All speculation, of course.  But telling how easy it is to imagine these players engaging in this type of shit.

Telling, indeed.  Which is why I am always hoping that all prosecutorial people are dotting every I and crossing every T as the various inquiries progress.  In a normal world, if the Jared/MBS tape emerged and were confirmed as genuine, and it was established that Trump had sold out the Kurds to keep a slimeball relative out of jail, that would be the end of him.  But we've moved so far from normal, and the usual standards of integrity and public trust, that it's hard for me to picture just how the chips would fall.

Trump's Saudi connections have smelled bad for years now.  Who knows what will be found if the dumpster is opened to see what's inside?

A dinner with no winner?

https://popular.info/p/the-trump-campaign-holds-a-lot-of

I for one have an easier time believing that Trump is scamming his own small donors than his going through the discomfort of sitting down for a meal with a regular person and not even getting a tweet out of it.

I for one couldn't be happier that he chooses to spend so much time rambling nonsensically to a crowd of adoring addle brained Trumpers rather than on the job where he might do some real damage.

After almost three years of impotent non-stop touting of RUSSIA! OBSTRUCTION!
STORMY DANIELS! IMPEACHMENT! the democrats are running out of time to get Trump out of office. If they fail once more the voters will be left with a healthy economy and record employment in all demographics. And the democrats?
Nothing of note to run on.

Things look as rosy as can be inside the GOP’s coffin, according to RedWard.

Polling yesterday shows that the Democrats have a fight on their hands in some key battleground states, but the notion that they are desperate to impeach Trump because they feel like there is no way they can beat the least popular POTUS in the history of polling in an election is fucking hilarious.

Who is the candidate?
A former Vice President linked to dubious behavior in the Ukraine?
Or a Fascist who wants to tax everyone into poverty?
A aging Socialist with heart problems?
A kid mayor?

Who is the candidate?

Don't know yet, REDSTATEWARD.  I know you exist in a WSJ bubble, but you should know the Democrats have not yet nominated a candidate.

Naturally, who that person will be matters.  But the point I was making stands:

None are facing the multiple rape and fraud allegations common to republican candidates. None have fuck up their family lives to the point where they like to tell their colleagues that their spouses won’t want to attend their funerals. None of them had to flee their home state. None have killed off farming and manufacturing jobs in this country like donald trump.

Impeachment is to let the parts of the country that are currently infected with republican leadership know that everyone they’ve elected has been knowingly lying to them for years to prop up the Honey Booboo of politics and Putin’s bag man in the USA.

BTW,

A former Vice President linked to dubious behavior in the Ukraine?

LOL.

Yeah, we can't possibly elect someone who is linked to dubious behavior re: Ukraine.  That would be crazy.

Quid. Pro. Quo.

In excerpts of Gordon Sondland’s deposition, the ambassador to the European Union revised his earlier testimony. He said he acknowledged telling one of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s advisers in Warsaw that “resumption of U.S. aid would likely not occur until Ukraine provided the public anti-corruption statement that we had been discussing for many weeks.”

https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/trump-impeachment-inquiry-live-updates/2019/11/05/a27d7c48-ff4e-11e9-8bab-0fc209e065a8_story.html

Actually, correction.  This isn't quid pro quo, its straight up extortion.
