Independent polling is inconsequential to the impeachment issue.

What don't you understand?
Not as long as Republicans need independent voters to win. Why dont.you understand?

That would be election related

Doesn’t matter if Senate doesn’t convict, GOP votes will be public record and they’ll get slammed by Independents who are really Republicans who don’t want to admit it.

Because no folks in Congress have ever made their decisions on the basis of potential election consequences.

Haley is signaling hard that the Dems need to include questions of basic fitness into the impeachment hearings. She is signaling that it should be front and center. She is suggesting two witnesses to call. Basic fitness and soundness for office.

She’s really showing how to sometimes trump your way through the trump administration with an eye on your electoral future.

Makes me think in Haley’s current analysis not enough of the creeps she’s currently backstabbing are likely to have enough juice left when the dust settles to do her serious harm.

Sub-contracting your ethnic cleansing:

Quote
Turkey launched a cross-border military offensive into neighboring Syria on Oct. 9...

Turkey essentially delegated the ground offensive to a proxy force, the "Syrian National Army", an umbrella group in northern Syria consisting of an assortment of rebel forces opposed to the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Many of the group’s factions, made up largely of Syrian Arab fighters, had already fought at Turkey’s behest in two previous military operations over the past three years.

Quote
proxy forces backed by Ankara have been blamed for a growing ledger of abuses against the local population...

More than 200,000 people have been internally displaced by the Turkish-led offensive, according to the United Nations. Families that have been scattered across eastern Syria say that Turkey’s Syrian Arab proxies have carried out summary executions and beatings, kidnapped or detained their relatives and looted their houses, businesses and belongings.

So instead of using the more professional regular Turkish army.  Erdogan has used mercenary Syrians instead, many of whom are Sunni religious fanatics.  And they've taken the opportunity to loot, kill, and settle scores.  Since many view the Kurds as unbelievers who deserve death.

Gee, what can go wrong ethnic cleansing Kurdish lands and bringing in fundamentalist Sunni holy warriors.  Turkey has long supported jihadist groups in Syria, including those aligned with Al Qaeda.  And since it's a patchwork of many different small zealot groups, accountability is minimal.

I don't think people understand enough that war is always awful, horrible, and full of severe human rights abuses.  And Trump enabled this, so he has blood on his hands now.

I simply stop the page from fully loading, so the paywall thingy doesn't drop down.  Sometimes takes 2 or 3 tries.
Seems to help to Load, then reload, then stop quickly.

Anywho, I quoted the most relevant parts.

It's clearly not the orderly process Turkey pretends it is.
And these extremist Sunni squatters are just going to be long-term trouble.  Assad and/or Russia, or most likely the Kurds, will have to deal them them at some point.  And there will be blowback in Turkey as well.

I think the reason that the Trumpeters were upset with Hunter Biden is they worried that Perry's donors and buddies wouldn't get their share of corrupt Ukraine energy deals ...

Inquiry does not equal impeachment

But they seem to have their minds made up

Hard to say one way or the other, because nothing has come up during the inquiry that would argue against Trump having committed the impeachable offense that birthed it.  Just the opposite.

And more coming:

Not long before the Ukrainian president was inaugurated in May, an associate of Rudolph W. Giuliani’s journeyed to Kiev to deliver a warning to the country’s new leadership, a lawyer for the associate said.

The associate, Lev Parnas, told a representative of the incoming government that it had to announce an investigation into Mr. Trump’s political rival, Joseph R. Biden Jr., and his son, or else Vice President Mike Pence would not attend the swearing-in of the new president, and the United States would freeze aid, the lawyer said.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/10/nyregion/trump-ukraine-parnas-fruman.html

That the minds of everyone, Democrat and Republican, should be made up on the offense itself being impeachable should not be a question.   Any Republican who votes otherwise should face the consequences of that decision come time for their reelection.
