Looking forward to the rest of the book.  Most of this is really no big deal:

I didn't find the speech in question, after admittedly a rather cursory search.  But I assume Harris is aware that police sometimes shoot working folks in their homes for being black.

Probably not nearly as big a deal as it would be if the Trump staffer that wrote it was truly more concerned about the country than their own career.  But you have some low expectations for the "president" you worship if you think the fact that his staff plotted his removal, ignores his orders when they are too wacky, and thinks he is in Putin's pocket is "really no big deal."

The portrait is of a man who is in way over his head, is temperamentally unsuitable for the job, and is prioritizing the interests of our nation's enemies over those of the people who elected him.  Yet kiidcarter8 shrugs.  How our nation's highest office has fallen.

It occurs to me with the term "Nevertrumper" in the news yesterday and today that it really is a measure of how perverse our politics are right now that people who use it derogatorily are getting away with it, as if never wanting the con man Donald Trump to be President of the United States somehow speaks ill about that person's judgement?

"There is no evidence that ____ is a NeverTrumper" - CNN.  Having a brain should be evidence of being a NeverTrumper.

Doesn’t matter what his staff thinks. That’s the point

You think the measure of a leader is having everyone agree with him/her?

Rock on with that

White folk sometimes shoot working folks in their homes for being black, you say?

I think when a "president's" staff secretly plot his ouster and ignore his orders because they are pipe dreams and/or are illegal that is a measure of his leadership, yes.

Sondland isn't the only one who is going to get speared in his public testimony:

https://www.justsecurity.org/67314/chart-side-by-side-comparison-of-kurt-volkers-vs-other-witnesses-testimony-in-impeachment-inquiry/

In the end, their lies aren't going to do the man they serve any favors.  Getting called out on them on live TV?  Going to be hard for hte "president's" minions to dismiss this as boring.  And it makes them look guilty as hell.

No, they aren't racist - we know because Ward will tell us so, again, asking us to ignore the evidence and claiming there was none. And Kid will suggest we need to give it a rest.

Why would those racists lie or mislead us?!

The racism of these maniacs is only half the problem.

One approach Republicans are taking to defend trump (the only approach that will end up being available to them) is OK, Trump did it and its bad, but not impeachable.

As obviously wrong as that is, it will be really, really hard for Republicans to make that argument if/when its found that Trump lied to a special counsel investigation:

https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2019/11/18/politics/house-investigating-trump-lying-to-mueller/index.html

...not that they aren't going to do exactly that.

Trump was lying about a government contract selection process that would have directed hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars to him personally:

For any credible politician a huge scandal.  For our "president" its just another Monday.
