For those who know the "save for offline reading" trick, or how to delete cookies, or how to use incognito mode, or switch browsers, or whatever....

This was a sharp analysis by Robert Kagan of the consequences if Ukraine-type QPQs become a political norm - i.e. if there are no consequences to a leader who engages in such dealings.  How this could come back and bite the GOP on its well-padded ass....

Recalling the way Trump jeered at Clinton's health and did a mocking imitation of Clinton stumbling before she got into a car, my sympathy for his medical issue is waning.

I also think there's a possibility he's preparing to pull a Fred Sanford in order to make a clean slither out of the Oval Office before the heat turns up further on impeachment, tax returns, campaign fraud, etc.

I heart Alexa Petri.

I’m gonna do something that used to piss off Utley to no end... name drop.

Alex is friends with my kids who were a couple years ahead of her at the Cathedral schools.

Well, hell, if you wanna name drop that, maybe I'll tell the story of my dinner with Roger Stone.

Republicans haven’t put a president in the White House since 1988.

The pettinesss of the GOP:

Quote
Several Republican members have sought to question Lt. Col. Vindman’s stature inside the White House, seeking to portray him as disgruntled underling who inflated his own importance.

Rep. Chris Stewart of Utah even went as far to point out that Vindman was wearing a military uniform to his hearing, even though he normally wears a suit to his job at the White House. And he asked why Vindman clarified his rank during earlier questioning with Rep. Devin Nunes.

“I’m in uniform wearing my military rank. I thought it was appropriate to stick with that. The attacks that I’ve had in the press and Twitter have marginalized me as a military officer,” he said.

It's also standard practice. (See also: Ollie North)

Because insulting a decorated serving Officer is perfectly OK for conservatives, in the right cause.

Kiid’s social and moral reasoning capacities are well within the normal range for a healthy adult Vogon.

If we hadn’t watched him burn and stomp on the flag for more than a decade, his posts would be more shocking in their un-American totalitarian bent. I wonder if his posts really still have the power to insult. To my reckoning, he shot his wad early in Obama’s first term.

FRANCE 24 English
 ·
The #US has the world's highest rate of children in detention, including more than 100,000 in immigration-related custody that violates international law, says the UN

----------

Pertaining to the Southern Border in the USA, there is no need to build a wall, and there is no need to separate families and to put children in cages, we have plenty of room here in the USA for new immigrants, Nevada has lots of open land, Las Vegas has plenty of room, and Texas is HUGE, there is plenty of room for new immigrants in the USA.

We need to make our immigrants here in the USA legal, like President Ronald Reagan did, and we need to change our laws to reflect who we are as Americans, we need to make it easier for our immigrants to become legal so that they can join labor unions, and so that they can call the police in the case of an emergency, etc. We need to make our immigrants legal, and we need to fix our laws for future immigrants.

And Detroit City Council Woman Raquel Lopez has said that our new immigrants are welcome in Detroit, Michigan, there is no need to put people in detention centers, we can just send our new immigrants to Raquel Lopez in Detroit.

The USA is a giant country, and we have plenty of room for new immigrants, and we need for our Statue of Liberty to represent what we are all about, not a wall.

Salute,

Tony V.
