It's false that Democrats have ever said any of that?

....and it will be up to the American People (contrary to the Constitution]
You can’t have read the Constitution.
The impeachment process (and trial in the Senate) is a total political process created by the Founding Fathers and can’t possibly succeed without the consent of the “ American People”.

We agree on something

It's false that Democrats have ever said any of that?

Nope.

They said much of it.

Quote
Trump is a long-time Russian agent, as described in the Steele dossier.
The Russians gave Trump advance access to emails stolen from the DNC and the Hillary Clinton campaign.
The Trump campaign based some of its activities on these stolen documents.
Trump received nefarious materials from the Russians through a Trump Campaign aide.
Trump laundered Russian money through real estate deals.
Trump was blackmailed by Russia through his financial exposure with Deutsche Bank.
Trump had a diabolical plan to build a Trump Tower in Moscow.
Trump changed the Republican National Committee platform to hurt Ukraine and benefit Russia.
The Russians laundered money through the NRA for the Trump campaign.
Trump's son in law lied about his Russian contacts while obtaining his security clearance
It's a long list of false charges, and that's merely a partial list.

Nothing in it has been disproven and much of it has been corroborated.

What Nunes said about it is bogus.

Nunes' bizarre "questioning" of Sondland:

Quote
So how did Nunes start off his allotted 45-minute questioning of Sondland? By floating a series of debunked conspiracy theories about Ukraine meddling in the election, of course!

"We have records showing Democrats were heavily involved with Ukraine in 2016," Nunes said before detailing a series of claims that have been debunked not only by nonpartisan fact checkers but by the likes of former US special envoy to Ukraine Kurt Volker and former Trump homeland security adviser Tom Bossert.

From CNN, but mostly from Nunes'.

AKA: You have no refutations, just as Nunes had none.

Or as you so succinctly put it, just because Nunes says they are false doesn't mean they are.

Seems another very good day for the Trumps

Hilarious.

Got a good laugh from Bo.

I like the latest Trump defense: well, he denied a quid pro quo and released the military aid in the cover-up phase after they were caught, so it's all fine.  Result is the same. <shifty gaze from side-to-side to see if that's gonna hold>

Nunes' list is clever ... in a way.
He combines things that are true (Trump was pursuing a Moscow Tower deal while lying about not having any Russky contacts, while Putin knew he was lying), with other things which are suspicious and problematic (Trump did owe a ton of money to Deutsche Bank after US banks stopped loaning to him).  With others that were speculated upon but never really pursued.  So it's a total mishmash of possible and probable Trump wrongdoing.  A useful list ... in a way.  Pretending it's all untrue and a smear is the hoax and tricky part.

But of course it's just a smokescreen and doesn't say anything about the investigation at hand, and the very real way Trump abused his office for political gain vis a vis Ukraine.

But when there is suspected wrongdoing or conflicts of interests, the proper course is to investigate.  That's how you determine what is and isn't true, if wrongdoing occurred or not.

With Russia and the stolen emails, Putin's boys certainly helped Trump by leaking negative info on Clinton and keeping the idea of email malfeasance alive.  So you investigate whether there was coordination or if Putin just helped his favored candidate.

The Mueller report would be more interesting and honest if he didn't start with the restriction that the President couldn't be charged with a crime (which is against democratic norms and merely based on a lawyer's partisan opinion.  You can find a lawyer whose job depends on political appointment to write a memo supporting nearly anything, including torture).  Secondly, the Mueller investigation would have been more complete if they had forced the president to testify.  How he wriggled out of that without pushback is unfortunate.

Two things I'm left wondering about:
- was Trump really so worried about Joe Biden as a threat?
Or was he just going to go after everyone, much like he did in the GOP primary?
- who explained to Trump what quid pro quo meant?
He might have picked this up in real estate negotiations, but most likely someone had to explain the term to him recently.

Biden was up 12 points on trump through most of this with a bigger spread in the rust belt. All the side hustle crooks were following events in Ukraine closely and knew the Hunter Biden Burisma connection existed and that Joe had pissed off the old guard at the Prosecutor General’s office. A take down of Joe & Hunter was the crack rock these guys offered chicken head trump to get him to put out in the form of giving his name and approval to any dirty deals they could cook up so long as they took Biden out of the race.

Trump knows many long deserved repercussions are poised to fall on his head the moment his term is up. This is a very desperate man with failing mental health. Every day he looks more and more like a cornered rodent, a big one that is ready to eat Devin Nunes who looks and sounds like a cornered rat.

Nope.  Nothing about impeachment's design is, in fact, a political process, outside of the fact that the people involved in it are elected every few years.  Impeachment in the House sets up a trial that is supposed to be judged on the facts.  This is why it isn't a 50/50 vote, but takes two thirds of the Senate to convict.

That it may be described as such may or may not be correct given current realities, but in truth its a cop-out used by Republicans now unwilling to do their duties as congressmen.
