And of course, the Senate itself has done what exactly in this same period of time?

For that matter, what legislation is getting proposed or pushed from the Executive Branch?

What has Trump done in the last six month beside propose an e-cigarette ban, which he would later fold on?

GOP is always so adept at projecting their own shortcomings on others.

According to Nielsen  6.5 million viewers tuned in to watch Yesterday’s MSNBC democrat debate in Atlanta, ( 1.6 million in the advertiser coveted 25-54 demo) a marked downturn from the 8.5 million viewers that CNN earned from the October 15th debate(2.4 million from the target 25-54 demo).

The most watched debate so far was The second day of NBC’s two-day affair in June, the first debate, which drew18 million overall viewers, from which more than 5 million were in the target demo.

To put it mildly, yesterday America shrugged.

It’s gotten infinitely better ratings then the Grope party’s primary debates which imposter bone spurs is too craven to actually show up for and his party is corrupt enough to scrap on his behalf. It’s a shame. The republicans might have run a biped in 2020 had they been less rigged. Now they are stuck with their spineless jellyfish.

Here’s just one of the ways that Weld would be kicking trump’s ass if trump had some balls and ever showed up.

It’s a good thing that Putin has gelded trump. It has stopped trump from committing more rapes while he is in office, now that his equipment is safely in a vault in Red Square. This has saved the failing republican party even more serious problems than they already have.

As Volker said Tuesday:
"It was clear to me that despite the positive news and recommendations being conveyed by this official delegation about the new [Ukraine] President, President Trump had a deeply rooted negative view on Ukraine rooted in the past. He was clearly receiving other information from other sources, including Mayor Giuliani, that was more negative, causing him to retain this negative view."

Trump apparently saw Ukraine as some sort of enemy (as coincidentally did Putin).

Fiona Hill was impressive: gracious, professional, intelligent.  Someone you'd like working with.
I liked how on occasion she'd provide some historical context, referencing some incidents from a decade or more back.  Which is useful and the kind of thing intelligent people do.

I'm amused that Jim Jordan is the GOP ringer.

Did anyone get asked why they didn't want to work with Rudy?
I can think of many reasons, but would be interested in hearing Sondland, Hill, and others give their reasons.

The defense that Zelensky didn't announce an investigation, military aid was eventually provided and they did meet at the UN is awfully weak, since the only reason the investigations weren't announced is because of the whistleblower complaint becoming public knowledge the day before the announcement was scheduled, and then the trumpeters went into defensive mode and Trump was advised after the QproQ was revealed to release the aid immediately.   Almost right on schedule, as the investigation announcement was supposed to have occurred, except the whole scheme was outed.

So the corrupt deal didn't happen is not proof that there wasn't a corrupt deal, but instead that they were caught and it was exposed just before it occurred.

Trump is, as you say indefensible. It is his defining feature.

Devin the Uber Nunes seems like a Congressman not planning to return from his next junket. He showed rigid fidelity to his Cyrillic catechism throughout the proceedings so far. He really couldn’t do much to make his boss look more guilty, dangerous, and out of control.

Similarly, the whole "we need to question the whistleblower" is clearly just wanting an opp to smear the person.  The complaint speaks for itself and basically everything in it has been confirmed by people much closer in the loop.  And it's the information that is important, not the source.

It's also a transparent attempt to scare other potential whistleblowers.  Like with the media, sources are more likely to come forward with useful information if they can remain anonymous.   Then the info is investigated and corroborated.  As the House has been doing.

So are they going to subpoena Rudy, Pompeo, Pence ...
And are they going to bring contempt and legal proceedings against the WH no-shows who have already been subpoenaed.  I assume this hasn't been decided yet.

Quote
TRUMP: “Keep fighting tough, Republicans, you are dealing with human scum who have taken Due Process and all of the Republican Party’s rights away from us.” — tweet Thursday.

"Human scum"
That's pretty awful for the President to refer to Representatives in the other party that way.  Tried and true.  First you dehumanize, then you can eliminate ...
Worrisome.

Otherwise, as has been noted elsewhere, this is an investigation, not a trial, and Trump hasn't been charged with any crime or impeachable offense.  Usually police investigations are done in secret without the suspect participating.  of course, the GOP objected to closed hearings (which are very useful so everyone doesn't coordinate their testimony based on what someone else said).

Why? So they can die in the Senate too? Do you have a clue how legislation is supposed to work?
