I doubt that Trump knew much about the Ukraine assistance process or pushed for any support for Ukraine or specific line items. Hitchen's Razor applies to a lot of Kid's posts.
Trump has clearly made cordial relations and a capitulation to Russian priorities a feature of his foreign policy. Whatever light you cast that in, it’s there. And to that end a public declaration that arming Ukraine against the Russians and their proxy fighters in the region would obviously go against that. So he has never said any such thing, in public statements or in a WH budget priority document.
Trump always wants to have it both ways with Russia. He comes in trying to lift sanctions and get the G8 back together, then tries to take credit for the increase in Russian sanctions he signed kicking and screaming.
Same with Ukraine. He held up the aid because he doesn’t give a shit about Ukraine and so, as Sondland said is the logic any businessman would follow, he wasn’t going to give them something for nothing when they had something he wants. Now Republicans (and their dumbass followers) want to give him credit for higher levels of military aid than there was under Obama!
And Nunes yesterday pointing to Bipartisan reports on Russian interference as though Republicans authored them themselves in order to say of course Republicans acknowledge Russian interference in 2016. But then they give credence to CrowdStrike, which is a conspiracy theory that literally absolves Russia of the 2016 hacking by claiming they were framed by Ukraine and the DNC.
Liars and dissemblers. Every one of them.
