Impeachment having no negative effect on Trump numbers in swing states

https://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/470286-plurality-in-battleground-states-support-trumps-impeachment-poll

I guess you could say his numbers were already bad, so impeachment having no further effect on Trump numbers.

It will sink in over the next couple of weeks then start reflecting in the polls.

Nominee for hypocrite of the moment:

John Bolton

I nominate Lindsey Graham for co-hypocrite or toady of the moment.

Its amazing Trump's extortion scheme almost worked and he almost got the Ukrainians to investigate the Bidens and if not for the whistleblower blowing the whistle,  probably would have.

But in the wake the impeachment hearings Sen Graham has come to Trump's defense and wants ti investigate the Bidens, and has sought documents from the State Dept.

I imagine he will get his request fulfilled a lot quicker than the House Inell Comm got thier requested docs.

I do have one concern though, did Trump promise Graham javelin missiles too?

Senate Republicans will now give Trump the "investigation" he tried to extort from Ukraine.

Unreal.

Obviously a sign that you are obviously innocent when you wine and dine the "jurors" at your week-end home:

The wooing appears to be working, particularly the Camp David effort.

Multiple lawmakers who have visited the retreat — nearly 90 miles from Washington — have described the trips as “surreal” and “incredible,” according to a half dozen lawmakers and aides familiar with the outings An invitation is now considered “the envy of the conference,” according to one member who attended.

“It’s an impressive effort to engage at the member level,” said the GOP lawmaker, who like several others requested anonymity to speak candidly about the coveted invites. “My colleagues have been blown away by it. And by the way, notice Republicans are united on impeachment.”

...

The grounds also include an arcade, a bowling ally and a shooting range. Lawmakers are encouraged to go have fun. And since no phones are allowed on the premises, members have been letting loose — with one attendee likening it to an “adult playground.”

Yup, just as the framers intended.

Really don't know what is going to be left of our Democracy when Trump is finished with it.

Congressional Republicans have been briefed that the conspiracy theories that Ukraine hacked the 2016 election and framed Russia for it are fabrications made up by Russian Intelligence and spread through clandestine means in order to damage our Republic, and clear the way for them to attack again in 2020:

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/22/us/politics/ukraine-russia-interference.html?action=click&module=Top%20Stories&pgtype=Homepage

Today Republicans parrot them anyway.  Maybe because they know that 2020 attack will be to their benefit.  And they sure do like those trips to Camp David.  There is an arcade!

We are truly through the looking glass folks.  This is how we lose our Democracy as we know it.

Funny thing is Dems think the impeachment inquiry will be the be all and tell all of who wins this election

Not so fast.  Plenty of issues at hand still for Republicans to go on the attack with as we wait the 2 months (likely) for the Senate hearings on this president.

News Item

The latest data from the Census Bureau monthly surveys tell a continuing positive story. Real median household income — the amount earned by those in the very middle — hit $65,084 (in 2019 dollars) for the 12 months ending in July. That’s the highest level ever and a gain of $4,144, or 6.8%, since Mr. Trump took office. By comparison, during 7½ years under President Obama — starting from the end of the recession in June 2009 through January 2017 — the median household income rose by only about $1,000.

Yeah, like his traditional Republican fall back of the deficit, or trade imbalance, or foreign affairs.

Well.

Americans are enjoying an all-too-unusual combination of peace and prosperity. The probability that you will be killed or lose a loved one in a foreign war has dropped to nearly zero, while the chance that you or anyone you know will be involuntarily unemployed is lower than it has been in half a century. Moreover, real wages are increasing and inflation is negligible. Life isn’t problem-free, of course, but times are genuinely good.

In the two weeks of public impeachment hearings the percentage of independents favoring impeachment fell from 48 per cent to 34
Meanwhile Trump’s overall favorable ratings went UP five points.

Nunes a true Republican.

https://www.cnn.com/2019/11/22/politics/nunes-vienna-trip-ukrainian-prosecutor-biden/index.html

(CNN)A lawyer for an indicted associate of Rudy Giuliani tells CNN that his client is willing to tell Congress about meetings the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee had in Vienna last year with a former Ukrainian prosecutor to discuss digging up dirt on Joe Biden.

The attorney, Joseph A. Bondy, represents Lev Parnas, the recently indicted Soviet-born American who worked with Giuliani to push claims of Democratic corruption in Ukraine. Bondy said that Parnas was told directly by the former Ukrainian official that he met last year in Vienna with Rep. Devin Nunes.

Bondy tells CNN that his client and Nunes began communicating around the time of the Vienna trip. Parnas says he worked to put Nunes in touch with Ukrainians who could help Nunes dig up dirt on Biden and Democrats in Ukraine, according to Bondy.

Jeez I'm surprised the Nunes didn't disclose his role in international intrigue during the just concluded impeahment inquiry which in part included diuscussions of Ukraine and its part in US elections. It seems he may have had first hand knowledge of the Ukrainian corruption.
