This is a hell of a piece...

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/22/opinion/colin-kaepernick-nfl.html?smid=fb-nytopinion&smtyp=cur

"First was the notion that Mr Kapernick was not good enough to play in the league..."

- Said by pretty much NOBODY

Bullshit. There were guys in the football forum that argued exactly that.

And then last week there was the rushed “tryout,” the details of which are still murky. But what followed was a debate over Mr. Kaepernick’s comportment, attire and what he had to say. The debate helped obscure this central fact — a multibillion-dollar monopoly is, at this very hour, denying a worker the right to ply his trade and lying about doing so.

Well, no- they were trying to GET HIM a job - one he would of course be unhappy with, because no team was bringing him in at this juncture to start.
- Thus the circus that CK drummed up - where he can now continue to be a martyr, as is his want, a close second to his real desire - to be an NFL team's savior at stating QB (I give him that much)

Way to miss the entire point of the article.

Funny thing is Dems think the impeachment inquiry will be the be all and tell all of who wins this election

You keep repeating that Republican talking point and it keeps being bogus.

The impeachment is a must, win or lose in the election.

Japanese-Americans in WW2...need to blame the leaders of Japan, Japanese people in Japan who supported the leaders and their actions, and Japanese spies in Hawaii etc for what happened to them.

Bullshit.

Plenty of Japanese-Americans served in the US military.  The first non-white professional basketball player in the USofA just died a couple days ago.
Wataru Misaka served two years in the US military between college basketball championships.  Was a valuable translator after the A-bombs vaporized and irradiated many in Hiroshima.

But of course it's illegal and wrong to take property and liberty away from people based on ethnicity when they haven't done a thing wrong.  A US citizen has certain guaranteed rights, notably the presumption of innocence and due process.

The gov't could have worked with the community and investigated those who were suspicious, had contacts with the enemy, said or did things that caused their loyalty to be questioned.  Gather intelligence and investigate.  Not lock up in camps.

Just as they undoubtedly do with US Muslims and radical mosque-goers today.  Figure out who might be a danger and keep tabs on those suspicious individuals.  Individuals being a key word here.

One article of impeachment should be:
"Sowing corruption on earth."

Okay, I swiped that from the Iranian penal code, but it's a damned good biblical turn of phrase.

Okay, I swiped that from the Iranians, but it's a damned good biblical style phrase.

Sowing is an organized behavior well beyond the capacity of trump and the rest of Putin’s henchmen who run the republican con game. Spewing corruption on earth is more accurate.

One good aspect of Bloomie entering the race is that he's planning something like 100 million for ads critical of Trump.  They won't win over progressives to Bloomie, but they might help whoever does come out on top.   His rising money tide may float other boats.  Be great if, at some point, he realizes he has no shot, and throws some of his 50 billion at the real contender.   Perhaps another former mayor.

FRANCE 24 English
 ·
In Bolivia, tensions are running high in the wake of the resignation of Evo Morales. The president stepped down on November 10 and fled for asylum in Mexico.

His departure has split the capital La Paz into rival neighbourhoods, with some households preparing themselves for reprisal attacks.

-----------------------------------------------------------

See, at this point Bolivia really needs a good leader to step in and to pull everyone together, with all positive ideas on a good future for Bolivia. They must not fight among themselves, they need to focus on what they have in common, and collective goals, and peace and prosperity. And one good thing that they can all agree on is improving education for the children, and they can agree on improving the economy, and they have lots of other issues in common. A good leader needs to bring the people together with a nice list of goals that they can all agree on.

Salute,

Tony V.
