By the way, if this president were actually a criminal you'd have no trouble with the impeachment process - no trouble getting a  desired result - rather than just the PR you will have to live with as proceeds of your side's efforts

Bullshit.  Trump has an Attorney General who is implicated in the scandal, won't recuse, and won't investigate.  Meanwhile, he is obstructing the effort to get to the bottom of his dealings by keeping key members of the Administration from testifying.

And despite all that there is still documented evidence on record that Trump committed bribery/extortion in Ukraine.

Not even getting into "Individual-1" re: the hush payments affair that landed Trump's personal attorney in jail.
Not even getting into the documented instances of criminal obstruction in Mueller's report.

Republicans would be greenlighting impeachment if only there was evidence of Trump's criminality?  LOL!

A plurality of Americans support impeaching and removing Trump.  So seeing that outcome as justified in no way makes someone a "minority element" of our society.

You'd certainly be swaying the 2020 polling

You're NOT.  Speaks for itself.  Case hasn't been made.  And independents mostly don't care.

2020 election should be similar to 2004, no? (not speaking of result)

Why, why not?

Many people's assessment. Including some who have left the administration

Egg throwers?  Not so much.  But you wouldn't expect praise from opposition extremists

EXTREMISTS!!

Yes.  Your group.  You say you are a proud American but cannot act like it because the President's personality has you all fucked in the head.
Consider the possibility that loving your country and supporting a President are.two different things. And that the current president is getting his due.

Which A) would say nothing re: your original statement that Republicans would back impeachment if only there was evidence of Trump's criminality and B) probably isn't even true: https://thehill.com/homenews/house/472044-independent-support-for-impeachment-inquiry-rises-following-public-hearings

Support for Impeachment jumped from -10 to +5 when the Ukraine scandal broke.  That those numbers haven't moved significantly since then proves nothing, save that your "president" has a 40% base of support that for a variety of reasons won't move off of supporting him.

Credit Americans for seeing the scandal for what it is from the start, and the hearings as only further confirmation.

I really dont know who would back what, Needs - if Trump really was a criminal.

The one time it happened - with Nixon - was he 100% backed by his party?  No.  Not even close.

I dont know why you think I would have that answer - or why you think you do.  But if you go by history - and believe in the American process - and Trump did act criminally, then you have to believe that like with Nixon, Republican senators will flip in great enough numbers for your desired result.

Trump is endorsing Giuliani going to Ukraine to get “dirt” on Biden from a Ukrainian oligarch under investigation by the FBI because he is really, really concerned about corruption:

“Kolomoisky seems to be trying the same thing as Firtash,” Volodymyr Fesenko, a Kyiv-based political analyst, told TPM. “Our oligarchs think that if you befriend the main person in a country, then that will solve all your problems. It’s not clear it even works like that in Ukraine anymore.”

The dynamic suggests that yet another powerful, scandal-ridden oligarch sees an opportunity provided by Giuliani’s and Trump’s efforts to smear their political opponents. For Kolomoisky, the prospect of pleasing the White House comes with two possible benefits: shutting down the American criminal investigation of him, and getting a favorable resolution to a massive embezzlement case involving a bank he previously owned.

You know Bo lives in Shanghai, right? As for the rest of your sermon on how we must all accept anyone, even a criminal demagogue, if they are elected, I'll leave the rehash of that to others.

Not really sure he actually does.  After all I haven't seen his support for Jimo Dashen.

Personally I'm embarrassed that America elected as obvious a huckster and charlatan and unpleasant bombast as Trump to be president.

This is all fine and dandy but you have to stand with the will of the people.    If you are to stay here, you live by what has justly occurred using our process.

Maybe you don't understand other Americans as you should, the WHY behind the Trump votes.  I am not talkimng abut someone like myself, who you know a little from this forum.  I mean the folks in middle America and other locales wholive quite differently than yiou - who have thoughts on the nation - and how we should proceed - based on THEIR lives, past and present.  It's AMERICA, not just your playground.

I was leaving if we elected Hillary.  Had the down payment all set.  I'd have still considered nyself an American - just taking a break from life in my nation til it reset.  Maybe you should do the same if Trump wins again.  I'd applaud that.  While living here you should support the nation -a and DONALD TRUMP is the face of it.

Just shut the fuck up you racist asshole.

”This strategy of kicking the hell out of Obama all the time, treating him not just as a president from the opposing party but an extreme threat to the American way of life, has been a remarkable political success. It helped Republicans take back the House in 2010, the Senate in 2014, and the White House in 2016. This no-cooperation, no-apologies approach is also on the verge of delivering a conservative majority on the Supreme Court; Republicans violated all kinds of Washington norms when they refused to even pretend to consider any Obama nominee, but they paid no electoral price for it—and probably helped persuade some reluctant Republican voters to back Donald Trump in November by keeping the Court in the balance.”
