Of course we now know that there was no collusion by Trump with Russia, no Trump obstruction of justice , but plenty of misconduct by FBI and Justice officials bent on overturning an election. And a willing media to rubber stamp that misconduct.

IG Report found the investigations into Trump Campaign connections with Russia were justified.
No.
Horowitz concluded only that the “ opening “ of an investigation was warranted.
What ensued was not.

In his words;

It doesn’t vindicate anyone at the FBI who touched this, including the leadership,”

“Same answer,
The inspector general found 17 errors or omissions made by the FBI as it sought and received approvals to conduct surveillance on former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page. Those applications were filed to the secret court created by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, or FISA, to oversee intelligence and terrorism cases.

“It’s fair for someone to sit there and look at all of these 17 events and wonder how it could be purely incompetence,

One, if a country’s government apparatus is corrupt one investigation isn’t going to fix it if all the corrupt people running that corrupt apparatus remain.  And two, you are saying the government is corrupt!  So why do you think that investigation will be fair and unbiased?  And three, how is a public announcement proof that they are actually following through with the investigation? Because remember, they are corrupt!   Its fucking nutty.

And of course, everyone knows that a totally legal not at all corrupt investigation starts with a nation's leader making a public announcement of its opening on CNN.

Just ask any federal prosecutor.

Yes, our FBI is too corrupt to conduct a fair an unbiased investigation.

This is why Trump is outsourcing his investigations to the totally fair and not at all unbiased folks in Ukraine.

Their FISA process is clean as a whistle.

Until the Democrats come up with a credible candidate that article is another prime example of the wish being the father of the thought.

Another cliché applies to politics and that is you can't beat something (even an impeached something) with nothing.

Anyone in the top 3 can beat trump, even with double the ratfucking of 2016. Trump staging an autocratic coup just before or just after the vote is a growing probability.

Republicans on the House Rules Committee want to stretch this out and get more time to review the evidence, hear witnesses, and have further debate and consideration of the matter so it will be done properly. Guess that means they support the House subpoenas for documents and witnesses from the administration. Someone should tell the White House and Chief Justice Roberts...

But never mind that the "president" and his "lawyer" sound like and behave like low level mobsters.  They are actually really really concerned about corruption.  Really.

Obama just gave the aid blindly.  Bush as well, likely

That's OK.  But I have no problem with Trump

a)  wanting to know that the aid is being used properly
and
b)  wanting European nations to be paying their proper share

For some reason some Democrats take issue with this kind of oversight.

You keep uttering this nonsense.

The aid was cntingent on their meeting a anti-corruption standard. They had already been okayed for that when the decision to withhold funds was made, with none of the standard announcements made.

And Europe?
Quote
European countries have contributed an estimated two-thirds of all of the aid to Ukraine since Russia annexed Crimea in 2014 and launched a conflict in the Donbas region in eastern Ukraine, according to Iain King, a visiting fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

Do you ever think for yourself? Can't you examine at least some of the Republcan bullshit before spewing it here??

This is the key issue, and demonstrative of Trump's "fake news" propaganda.  If anything you read that contradicts your predisposition to support Trump in all things is "fake news" then why even bother to look it up?  And take that to the next logical step, the only "facts" you end up accepting are the "facts" Trump himself provides.

It takes a special sort to hand over your brain like that, to believe that the only person on earth telling the truth is Donald J. Trump, but yes, it seems there are a large number of Americans, toddlercarter8 included, who are that stupid.

Its like a bad cult.  As said here:

Congressional Republicans have embraced and copied Mr. Trump’s cruelty and defended and even adopted his corruption. Mr. Trump and his enablers have abandoned conservatism and longstanding Republican principles and replaced it with Trumpism, an empty faith led by a bogus prophet.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/12/17/opinion/lincoln-project.html

We can keep pointing to the facts, but they won't be absorbed.  Their deprogramming requires more than can be done over a forum.

Collins kicking ass

https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/2019/12/17/susan-collins-during-impeachment-i-need-witnesses-get-truth/

Here’s something that won’t make things any easier on her: We’ve got video of Colllins during the 1999 impeachment trial of President Bill Clinton, calling for “more evidence” and “witnesses,” in order to “get to the truth,” and to fulfill the Senate’s “duty to do impartial justice.”

Why its almost like for some Republicans the rules are different depending on having a (D) or an (R) next to your name.

Well, we know REDSTATEWARD won't stand for that kind of thing!

The $1 Million paid to Parnas' wife came from Ukrainian oligarch Dmytro Firtash, according to his attorney an prosecutors.

Wikipedia:

Dmytro Vasylovych Firtash  is a Ukrainian businessman who heads the board of directors of Group DF.[1] U.S. federal prosecutors described Firtash in 2017 court papers as an associate of Russian organized crime.[2] He was highly influential during the Yuschenko administration[citation needed] and the Yanukovych administration.[3] As a middleman for the Russian natural gas giant Gazprom, Firtash funneled money into the campaigns of pro-Russia politicians in Ukraine.[4]

His many roles during the Yuschenko administration included: presidency[5] of the Federation of Employers of Ukraine (FEU), an interest association of industrial enterprises that he chairs;[6] chairmanship[7] of the National Tripartite Social and Economic Council (NTSEC); co-chairmanship[8] of Domestic and Foreign Investors Advisory Council under the Ministry of Education, Science, Youth and Sports of Ukraine; and membership[9] in the Committee for Economic Reforms under the President of Ukraine.

Firtash was arrested by Austrian authorities in March 2014. In February 2017, the Vienna Court of Appeals ordered that Firtash be extradited to the United States, to face charges that he had secured a titanium extraction permit in India through $18.5 million in bribes.

As of August 2016, Firtash has not returned to Ukraine following the Maidan revolution of 2014. The current status of many of his various offices and titles within Ukraine are not clear; specifically those not directly related to his own business holdings. To date, he has retained ownership of his assets within Ukraine, including those areas presently under Russian control.

This is the guy paying (for unknown reasons) a key member of Giuliani's anti-Ukrainian Corruption team.

Makes sense.

News Item
December 17, 2019

WASHINGTON—A secretive surveillance court issued a rare public order on Tuesday, rebuking the FBI for its handling of warrant applications on Carter Page, a onetime Trump campaign foreign-policy adviser.
The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court—which operates in near total secret—called a recent watchdog report “troubling” and described the behavior of the Federal Bureau of Investigation as “antithetical to the heightened duty of candor” owed to the court.
