Quick reminder to those following at home,

There is no acquittal possible anymore for trump at any point in this process. He has been impeached for several of his many crimes. That was the finding of fact. All the senate can do is determine whether he can continue as president or not as a consequence. It is a sentencing exercise post conviction. If the Senate majority decides to give him a pass, voters get to weigh in on the corrupt stonewalling thug and many of the Senators protecting him in less than a year. That is the ultimate jury that will unlock the ultimate chain of consequences.

Senate phase is the trial, actually.  The House process is more akin to a GJ indictment.

It contradicts itself within the span of a single sentence, which is a sort of accomplishment. Brevity in hypocrisy award.

You are correct. But effectively, because of the vast amount of public tape, in this case I’m not as far off as we were in any of the previous 3, except possibly Nixon which had tapes of its own. Even Clinton got dinged by his taped testimony. Trump’s been testifying since before day 1. That’s why he was not America’s choice for president.

The part about a more final verdict on the whole republican rats nest being shortly in the hands of the voters still holds.

Elderly couple with Christmas ham rejected from Uber driver due to religious beliefs

A woman says she thought a Muslim Uber driver “was kidding” when he refused a fare because her husband was carrying a Christmas ham the retired couple had won in a Seaford RSL raffle. But she wasn’t laughing when he then charged them $10.

Uh, it's the GOP Senate trying to set up a sham highly partisan non-trial, where the GOP jurors have made their decision in advance and coordinate with the accused/WH on strategy.

Somehow Red and other rigthies have no problem with their side derailing the Constitutional process.  Just as Trump's obstruction and non-cooperation with the House didn't bother them at all.  The rule of law is for losers ...

Pelosi is trying to get some concessions and ensure that the Senate process is somewhat fair, that Senate Dems have some say and able to call witnesses, etc.  It's a longshot with hyper-partisan McConnell in charge, but after a lot of work it's worth making the case to the public and pressuring the more moderate Senate Repubs to allow a real process to play out in the Senate.
