Tom Steyer and Andrew Yang are two Californian rich guys who are running for President.

Tom Steyer has done things to help the children to have fresh locally produced fruits and vegetables with their school lunches, and he has done other good things. He seems like a smart guy, and he is worth a look.

Andrew Yang's father invented over 60 patents when he worked for GE (you can check for the exact number), so he comes from a smart family whom have contributed to America. He wants to give every American a basic income of $1,000.00 per month. But, he wants to take the money from American manufacturers, and instead I would suggest putting a tariff on imports to pay for it. However, I would suggest only giving aid to those who need it, and if you do not need aid then you should not receive something that you do not need. We should only give aid to the people who need it. I do not agree with Andrew Yang on everything, but he is worth a look. And Yang might make a good Vice President.

For the Republicans, Senator Marco Rubio is doing a great job in Florida, maybe he can run in 2024.

Salute,

Tony V.
Empty suit. No chance of beating President Klobuchar for reelection.

You can.  [we call soda pop "soft drink"]

In my kitchen, in the fridge, there is no soft drink.
We drink bottled water. [not as many steps as when young away from the grave, we're not worried about 'fluoride' for teeth.]

In the garage however, there is another fridge.
In this fridge is the 'forbidden fruit'. Coke, chocolates, chocolate biscuits etc.
O the taste of 'forbidden fruit'! once in a while. Small glass bottles of Coke No Sugar, and Coke.

Absolute hogwash.

Simple conservation measures would allow every coal plant to go offline in five years.   Switching to a plant based diet would cut the cubic footage of fridges needed in half or more.    We have to make that switch anyway,  due to the methane and waste products from meat production.

We make sure cokes are chilled around the world but refuse to provide funds that would allow cold storage of life-saving vaccines and meds where they are desperately needed.  Selling cokes is more important than saving lives.  Right.

And,  trust me,  you can live without soda pop.

Plant based diet?
Methinks you'll need a lot of luck trying to convert Americans from burgers to beans.

No funds provided around the world for cold storage of life-saving vaccines and meds where they are desperately needed?
Foreign aid provision is very complex.

The Coke factory in Los Angeles was built with a ship theme, it is a great building, it is cool that the architect had some fun and they created something cool. When people build then they should have fun, and people should create great buildings. And even when people build a post office, the architects need to have fun and they need to create great buildings.

As a puppet, trump is looking more and more like old palpatine in the new Star Wars movie. You capture it well, DeeJ.

The republican party is having a hard time breaking up with an getting over their sexiest man, Lev Parnas. It’s going to take decades for them to finish scrubbing their Instagram accounts.

Ever wonder what the Russians got off the RNC servers?

They dumped DNC documents and emails but from the GOP? Nada.

It’s one massive hairball.

The guy the trump racket put in Fiona Hill’s old chair at the Russia desk just got frog marched out of his office and into the waiting arms of a National Security Investigation.

No worries. Everything normal. Nothing to see here.

Tax meat like they do cigarettes ...

Really a meat and a coal tax would make sense to capture some of the harm they do to the planet and costs they incur, and encourage the switch to better alternatives.

Tony check out pictures of Kazakhstan's capital.
Quote
Astana from 1998 until March 2019, is the capital city of Kazakhstan. In March 2019, it was renamed to Nur-Sultan after the departing Kazakh president, Nursultan Nazarbayev.
Nazarbayev ruled Kazahstan since it's '91 independence until last year.  And building the dusty town of Astana into a gleaming capital city -- now named after him -- was a great project of his.  Kazakhstan has a lot of mineral wealth.

Most of the buildings were designed by British architect Norman Foster, with a good deal of creativity.  This is a weird conspiracy-oriented webpage, but it has pics of a number of strange Astana buildings.  https://vigilantcitizen.com/sinistersites/sinister-sites-astana-khazakhstan/
I like the opera house situated within a giant pyramid, with an international conference center right above the opera dome.  Kinda cool.

The world's largest tent (size of 10 football fields) is unusual, but at least more related to the Central Asian steppe than a pyramid.

Shanghai is famous for its collection of 21st C buildings.  The only problem is they are conceived oand executed without considering the context, so often they clash or are out of scale with their surroundings.  One obvious example is a gleaming white curved mall which looks futuristic located right next to an old Buddhist temple.  Of course that's the downtown tourist temple, complete with gov't worker fake monks, which itself got a gleaming golden makeover so it looks brand new.  Sometimes they get a lot wrong at the same time.

Anyway, check out Astana, Kazahstan photos.  I'll probably get to Kazakhstan in 2021.

The republican party is having a hard time breaking up with an getting over their sexiest man, Lev Parnas.

If Parnas is the sexiest Republican, then reproductive rates will soon drop precipitously in the GOP.   The concern is that Democrats are having a similar fertility drop,  due to WC progressives not having children or putting it off until their late 30s...or excessive use of Gwyneth Paltrow's jade egg.   And then there's that whole segment of the progressive wing that's all "it would be irresponsible to bring a child into this world."

Happy MLK day, y'all.

Its actually 2 separate anti-Trump factions within one party.

Nice job, Times.
