From the NY Post link above...
“This is ridiculous. We’re not going to throw out capitalism. We tried that. Other countries tried that. It was called communism and it just didn’t work.”
Both the Democratic socialist, Sanders, and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren jumped in with “whoa whoa whoa.”
Sanders maintained that the communism statement as a “cheap shot.”
“We are living in many ways in a socialist society right now,” Sanders said.
“The problem is as Dr. Martin Luther King reminded us, we have socialism for the very rich, rugged individualism for the poor.”
The NY Post doesn't bother with the rest of Sanders reply, which explained quite well how we already have socialism and why his alternative to that would really be more democratic. Kid, you are running all your information through so many filters, you seem to be missing the opportunity to really understand the Democratic Socialist perspective.
Sanders did not get "nailed," and his reply to Bloomberg's cheap (and inaccurate - Sanders is not a communist) shot was excellent in giving us a clear idea of how socialism is a blanket term that doesn't tell anyone the specifics of how an economic plan works.
Bernie's plan specifically charts a path towards a healthier, better educated and better paid workforce that has more of a share in the nation's wealth. Calling it names means nothing. Tell us why that's a bad idea and why we shouldn't strive to make that happen. Tell us why millions of Americans should remain without healthcare. Tell us why a single-payer system wouldn't save hundreds of billions in healthcare cost and move from profit-centered to patient-centered. Tell us why a million kids should not go to college because it's too expensive. Tell us why educated young people is something our nation doesn't really need. Tell us why a company's profits shouldn't be shared with its hardest workers and allow them to save money (one of the basic health indicators of an economy, btw). Tell us why paid parental leave wouldn't strengthen families, improve parents' mental and physical health, and help child development at a critical early stage of life.
You complain that members here are "led by the nose," and yet you take one slur from Bloomberg ("communist") and run with it.
