Mike was a capable mayor and likely would have been a capable president.

As a national candidate, especially in the Democratic Party, he sucked. But he did a great job, along with Steyer, showing the limits of money!

OTOH, his endorsement of Biden is not going to improve the mood of Bernie's supporters.

Its the money that's important

Or do you still think it will just go to "anti-Trump" advertising?

The money was insufficiently important for him to win a single state (though he did take American Samoa).

I think it will go to pro-Biden ads to an extent, cwith ontinuing anti-Trump ads, but also increasingly to the Senate and House races. But also... it is not just about ad money!

He's started building his New Hampshire team, for example. He's paying his field coordinators $6,000 a month through November. This is not going to be a small operation, even if Bernie becomes the nominee and rejects Bloomberg's help.

Oh, he will spend Samoa money this year, both on anti-Trump ads and down ballot ads

So down to four:.Joe Bidsn, Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Tulsi Putin. If When Warren drops out she will at least have the satisfaction of having almost single handedly taken the Bloom off.the "let's elect different billionaire" movement.

Bloomberg's $$ denied Tulsi her rightful position as winner in American Samoa.

I do wonder, though, why American Samoa gets a say in this - their residents aren't American citizens! (I don't object, per se. It's just odd. Puerto Rico, the US Virgin Islands, etc. have US citizens from birth.)

Bloomberg’s failed attempt to buy into the dem primary was self-inflicted ( with help from Bernie)
Mike’s strategy was to apologize for being a successful businessman and politician so as to ingratiate himself with the looney leftists and to ward off Bernie labeling him an “ immoral capitalist”.
Mike should have told Bernie to fuck off.

I'm so generous, I gave all my pun space away last night.  Some day, these jokes will be extinct, like some moa in New Zealand.

I think the bloom came off billionaires pretty early in the race, but agree that Warren administered the coup de grace.  She just pointed out that itchy uncomfortable feeling most of the electorate already had about Bloom and Steyer.  It wasn't just the "loony Left."

He was largely done in by Warren. And he did tell Bernie to fuck off, with his line about the best known socialist in America. But his barbs didn't stick nearley as well as hers!

It is to laugh!

https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/04/politics/bernie-sanders-barack-obama-ad/index.html

Bernie "I am the anti-establishment candidate" Sanders has a new ad putting together times when Obama said nice things about him.

Shades of Mike Bloomberg!

Having seen trump, Americans don’t trust those who claim to be Billionaires even when unlike trump they actually have the money.

Bloomberg can by the husk of the republican party and run against Joe in 2024.

It’s always easier to run in the republican primaries where the competition is all craven callow dishonest shills without gravitas or charisma.

No, kiid has a point. If he makes it to 2024 Blooms will be 83. They need to find someone younger who is untainted by Trumpism to rebuild around. Though given the obsequious subservience of everyone in Washington to Trump not sure who that might be
