I wouldnt be too hard on Whoopi - she was able to laugh at herself- and Joy bailed her out by saying Jill would be excellent in Betsy DeVos' slot.

Of course the big get would be Michelle Obama as running mate.  But this might be too much of a load for her.

The entire point of the republican party is that all of its officials and operatives think about nothing except their next chance to be bought off.

Mike has the stack for that.

Not quite, there are issues involved and a lot of lost causes on the side of the dems. Immigration for instance. Republicans are for secure borders and preserving things for Amercan citizens. Dems are for cheap nannies and keeping babies out of cages and a Latino voting bloc. . Trump and the republicans are for veteran entitlements, Bernie is for anything but. Bernie is for the free lunch; open enrollment, no tuitions,

You continue to utter such bullshit as if somebody brainwashed you.

We are for keeping babies out of cages. That you are not is disgusting.

The GOP is for denying the vulnerable anything and for controling women and keeping minorities from gaining power if they can.

They are for *some* American citizens - themselves, and screw the rest of us.

Your mistake is in thinking you are among "themselves" when you are one of those they will walk all over.

Stop it already. Enforcing the laws and keeping illegal aliens out of the country is not baby killing.

If the facts are as murky and in dispute as they seem to be,  a stay of execution would be a good idea.   Death is well known for its irreversibility.

Depends a lot on how you do it. This imposter administration enforces some laws and ignores others in charting a border policy that kills babies (among others) and institutes slavery, whether this is by design or is simply the best that lousy fear mongering crooks can do.

Those moves haven’t done as much to slow immigration as the

Elizabeth Warren  drops out. Good news for Tulsi Putin who as the only woman left in the race might now pick up a second delegate.

Stop it already. HOW you enforce a law is a separate issue from the law you are enforcing.

Nothing like echoing bigoted language to dispel the notion that you are racist.

Of course Red is racist. He may well be gaslighting himself according to current republican procedures, but it seems trump has ramped up his inherent sense of white inferiority and undeserved privilege so in response he’s projecting much harder these days.

Quote
Sen. Bernie Sanders’s (I-Vt.) campaign sees a path to the White House fueled by his call for a revolution. Former vice president Joe Biden, by contrast, wants to build on the successes of previous progressive administrations. Here’s what I recommend: For the time being, set aside your position on any given policy issue. Hold your assessments of either man’s personality in abeyance. The choice we each face now should be centered on politics, and politics alone.

Sanders and Biden would attract very different political coalitions. Sanders would abandon our party’s pursuit of swing-district moderates in favor of seeking to inspire legions of young progressives — something, it’s worth noting, he has failed to do since the primaries began. (Which raises the question: Why would they suddenly materialize in a general election?) Biden promises to reinspire the Obama coalition, weaving moderates and liberals, suburban and urban voters into what I call the Metropolitan Majority. Which political strategy do you think is more apt to achieve our goals? Look at the history, data and facts to make your decision....

Quote
That brings us to the facts. Two years ago, Democrats routed the GOP not by marching angrily to the left but by backing candidates with profiles that matched their districts. Democratic challengers promised to meet Trump’s chaos with legislative competence. The Democrat running for governor of Michigan was propelled to victory on a simple slogan: “Fix the damn roads!” Our path to the White House cuts through the same urban and suburban real estate that handed Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) the speaker’s gavel.

That assessment is borne out by the data. Candidates supported by Our Revolution, a group banking on the theory that more radical policy ideas will turn out legions of uninspired voters, failed to flip a single seat in 2018 — zero, zilch. And yet Sanders promises to employ that same strategy as the Democratic nominee. How big a boost would the “revolutionary” candidate need to win? According to at least one academic study, he would need a surge in progressive voters larger than the surge Obama got from African American voters in 2008. Ask yourself: Does that seem plausible — or even possible?
