No employee wants to come to work sick and no employer would disagree

An employee would come in to work if they needed the money, and did not have sick leave.
And would be sent home, but you knew that
Not in their world, necessarily,  especially with mild symptoms. Again, you have consistently demonstrated a total lack of understanding or empathy for lives that are not like yours. But you knew that.
Quote

But the coronavirus has no symptoms  up to five days before someone is sick.

And so?  Are you saying the virus can not be transmitted once those symptoms are present?   If you are, that is not correct.
Irrelevant to the question. An employee with no symptoms and no reason to stay home can spread the virus.  With or without paid leave.
And then those without paid leave come in sick.

And of course, without paid leave, if you have been exposed to it but are asymptomatic,  you are more likely to come into work than self quarantine.  The right wing web site where you read that argument and thought "Yahtzee!" did not think it through.
You can advance any argument you want for paid sick leave.
But it won’t stop the spread of coronavirus as Washington and California demonstrate.
"Stop". By that metric the travel ban is stupid too.

GOP in an emergency

http://slate.com/business/2020/03/republicans-think-democrats-coronavirus-bill-is-part-of-a-radical-left-wing-agenda.html

The turtle and the slumlord, Moscow Mitch and Putin’s Puppet, are just another incarnation of the walrus and the carpenter.

Sorry bro.  They ain't getting that weak shit through

"Weak shit" without an explanation, as usual.

Not that the GOP is trying to get anything stronger or half as useful through.

The UK reports that that they have 590 cases.

However:
Quote
Patrick Vallance, the government’s chief scientific adviser, said the true number of infections was “likely” to be between 5,000 and 10,000 – many times higher than the current figure of 590.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/12/asia/coronavirus-flu-weather-temperature-intl-hnk/index.html

AUstralia and Singapore suggest that the heat of summer may not bring the relief from this virus that some folks (such as President Trump) are expecting or at least hoping for.

This does not bode well for the world or US economies. Let alone what the news out of the UK is likely to do. And so much for Trump's exclusion of the UK from his flight restrictions!

For vacation,  you can go to Bruges,  which is a shithole...or you can visit Landerneau....

Quote
A looming sense of unease spread across Europe during the weekend as once-bustling cities were placed on lockdown, officials worried about shortages of face masks, and the number of people infected with the novel coronavirus grew to over 7,000.

But a small town in northwestern France was not about to call off the world’s largest gathering of Smurfs.

“We must not stop living,” Patrick Leclerc, the mayor of Landerneau, told Agence France-Presse on Tuesday. “It was the chance to say that we are alive.”

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/03/11/smurf-coronavirus-france/

Quote
Despite the fears of contagion, more than 3,500 people in blue body paint crowded together in a parking lot Saturday, dancing in conga lines to disco hits chosen by a Smurf DJ. “There’s no risk, we’re Smurfs,” one fan of the Belgian cartoon told AFP. “Yes, we’re going to Smurferize the coronavirus.”

The village of Landerneau, which is home to a little more than 15,000 people and best known for its historic architecture, hoped to earn a spot in Guinness World Records. In February 2019, 2,762 people had painted themselves blue and gathered at a regional carnival in Lauchringen, Germany, taking home the world title for “Most people dressed as Smurfs.” Organizers of Landerneau’s annual Festival of the Starry Moon were determined to top them in 2020...

Paid leave for illness will slow the spread of the Coronavirus among other illnesses. Try to get your thick head out of your floppy asshole.

Your GOP congresscritters are still taking sick leave after receiving negative virus test results.

You are shit up to the eyeballs, fascist slut.

ust because someone who had the coronavirus is feeling better, that does not mean they still can't spread the disease, according to Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.

Fauci dispelled this misconception tonight during CNN's coronavirus town hall.

"You can become infected, get symptomatic, resolve the symptoms, feel well, and still share the virus. You can go back to your normal life when you have two consecutive tests for the coronavirus that are negative, separated by 24 hours. That is an excellent question. Just because you feel better or feel well does not mean you are not sharing the virus," Fauci said.

It makes no sense to you, Ward.

To those of us who speak English, it is a pretty clear connection.

Paid leave will save lives, Jim. I already proved you were wrong about people not working when sick or being sent home when sick.

Paid leaves will slow the spread, which is the goal of the effort - a part of reducing the speed of its spreading.

Got it now?!

If they have 100.000 in Ohio, I wonder how many the rest of the nation has!

The good news, if they are right, is that the rate of death from it is far lower than current estimates.
