Oh, no.

Cuomo:

"I am telling you these numbers don't work (for NYC) and I told HOUSE MEMBERS we really need their help"

Could Pelosi and her group of House Dems really choose to NOT vote YES on this Senate bill?

Interesting rest of the day ahead.

And so it starts...

Need severe measures for these scammers

It continues. But scammers had already made millions with fake websites for masks and other medical supplies, preying on cyber currency folks. Bitcoin users, in particular, were hard it.

And yes, we need severe measures, but we also need to figure out a way to educate folks that whenever they think they are about to get away with something there is a good chance that somebody else is trying to do the same to them.

Then to be less confident in their ability to outscam the scammers.

Amazon has been hiring laid-off Uber workers and the like,  at higher than usual wages.   I hope this doesn't sound like spam.   The wife ordered a couple food items we couldn't find on ransacked grocery shelves here,  from Amazon.

Amazon is out of the product I wanted to buy, just like Walmart and every grocery store within a half hour's drive. Target may have it.

At CNN the most trusted reporter has been identified as a stopped clock.
In the immortal words of The Man Who Hires Wells, an attempt at humor, I assume?

Still can't decide if the accountant of TMWHW was spared or not.   Neatly packaged ambiguity.
Depends. Did he see him?

Hint: Correct answer: No.

Yes, Dr. Fauci disagrees with the president.

He just is working very hard to not piss the guy off by saying "the President is wrong" to the media.

But the President is wrong.

The heightened approval for how Trump has managed this crisis -- particularly among independents and even Democrats -- is what is pushing up his overall approval numbers, which have been largely stagnant for years.

Independents.  Interesting.

No explaining white stupidity.

Networks letting him spew uninterrupted bullshit is a more effective campaign strategy than rallies. Anyone stupid enough to believe a word this asshole says...

We know the accountant is saying no,  but is Chigurh being ironic when he asks the question,  as in "well,  yes,  of course you saw me,  so it doesn't matter which answer you give... "   Or is the question really giving the acct an out?

In a Tuesday interview on Fox, Boeing chief executive Dave Calhoun said he would not be willing to give the government an equity stake in the company in exchange for a bailout, implying the company would only accept assistance on its own terms. President Trump has said he would support the idea, suggested by his economic adviser, of taking an equity stake in companies that receive assistance in the package.

Remember what government having equity stakes was called before Jan 21, 2017?

Quote
Craig Holman, a lobbyist with the advocacy group Public Citizen, said companies such as Boeing are likely to have more options available to them in private capital markets.

Boeing could “get a loan from the bank to get through these hard times,” Holman said. “The workers, the people who are laid off or get sick, have no such options.”

“Any bailout ought to go to the people,” he added.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/25/health/coronavirus-death-peak-three-weeks-epidemiologist/index.html

In what is ostensibly an optimistic outlook, an epidemiologist suggests that the peak of deaths might be 3 weeks away. If he's right and we're doubling every 2-3 days, then at the end of that 3 week period, we might be seeing only 28,000 deaths per day and 57,000 total at the peak, before things taper off (with another 57,000 dead). Or, if it's every 2 days, not every 3, then we might see 230,000 at the peak, with 460,000 dead by the end of day 21 and another 400,000 or so yet to die.

That's the optimistic doctor. One of the folks who sort of agrees with him thinks it might be 6 weeks, instead, though probably with a lower rate of acceleration of deaths for the latter half of the six weeks.
