https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/25/health/coronavirus-death-peak-three-weeks-epidemiologist/index.htmlIn what is ostensibly an optimistic outlook, an epidemiologist suggests that the peak of deaths might be 3 weeks away. If he's right and we're doubling every 2-3 days, then at the end of that 3 week period, we might be seeing
only 28,000 deaths per day and 57,000 total at the peak, before things taper off (with another 57,000 dead). Or, if it's every 2 days, not every 3, then we might see 230,000 at the peak, with 460,000 dead by the end of day 21 and another 400,000 or so yet to die.
That's the optimistic doctor. One of the folks who sort of agrees with him thinks it might be 6 weeks, instead, though probably with a lower rate of acceleration of deaths for the latter half of the six weeks.
