http://www.salon.com/2020/03/28/a-wannabe-dictator-never-cries-except-maybe-for-himself/

If every creep present at the signing ceremony caught a heavy dose and died an ugly death over the next few months we’d be left with a better government.

At least the author exaggerated when he claimed that deaths were doubling every day rather than every two or three days!

But yes, while I don't wish them dead, it is true that we would be better off if they were.

So many interesting posts,  so much to absorb.   Stay well,  Larry.

Red,  have you actually read Reich,  or Fukuyama?  I doubt it.   Why engage?
A better question for you since you trying to equate Fukuyama with a partisan hack like Reich.

In other words, Barton, no, he hasn't. But he read the Wiki article on Fukuyama.

What's amusing is that I contrasted Reich strongly with Fukuyama.  My original post didn't equate them at all.

A teen died in my home town, the hospital would not treat him because he did not have insurance. Some people need to be sued over this, and some people need to lose their jobs over this. There will be repercussions.

This is a town that built a prison and called it job creation.

The Antelope Valley was once great, and some aspects of the Antelope Valley are still great, but some of the people there need to soften their hearts and they need to expand their minds. The Antelope Valley College is great, and they have a great community theatre, and they build lots of great secret defense stuff, and great planes, etc, but they need to have more of a community, and you should not end up homeless in a town where you were born, and they should never let a teen go without medical treatment because he did not have insurance. Screw the insurance, save the kid.

If my kid died because he did not have insurance, I would burn that hospital to the ground.

Salute,

Tony V.

One more reason why China’s official COVID-19 mortality statistics are being treated with some skepticism by overseas observers:

http://shanghaiist.com/2020/03/27/urns-in-wuhan-far-exceed-death-toll-raising-more-questions-about-chinas-tally/

Journalists from a Chinese language news service called Caixin have discovered that one mortuary in Wuhan had recently taken delivery of 5000 urns in the space of just two days. And this was at just one of seven known mortuaries located in Wuhan.

According to official Chinese government data, 50,006 were infected with COVID-19 virus in Wuhan with 2,535 dying from the disease

To be clear, hospital administrators did not cause PPE shortages. Leadership at my hospital has not told me to shut up. I see them working hard to help us. While administrators are less likely to be exposed, they have a huge role to play in getting us PPE, changing policies on the move, and keeping the hospital financially solvent. Indeed, we want administrators to succeed.

Wow

Imagine administrators not ordering the masks because the price went too high.

Come on, New York...

CDC has three levels of guidelines - conventional, contingency and crisis

Cuomo is understandably not thrilled -

https://www.foxnews.com/politics/cuomo-new-york-cdc-crisis-guidelines-ppe-inadequate

Cuomo continued: "[Commissioner of Health] Dr. [Howard] Zucker is looking at that. If we believe the CDC guidelines do not protect health care professionals, we will put our own guidelines in place."
