The Federal Government is restricted from national quarantines. The states not so much thanks to the 10th amendment and the Commerce Clause.
I stand by what I wrote.

This is wrong in many ways.  You don't understand how the commerce clause has been interpreted for two hundred years.  Your have it all backwards.  The Feds have great powers under the commerce clause.  And if anything, the Commerce Clause would likely prohibit a state from shutting down commerce.   but all this ignores the vast powers that state and fed gov't have during emergencies, especially when dealing with core powers -- health, safety, defense.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/03/30/world/coronavirus-who-masks-recommendation-trnd/index.html

Of course almost the entirety of the article talks about the shortage of masks and the need for health care workers to be prioritized.

Bottom line: they don't advise people to take a very sensible precaution because it isn't available.

If everyone wears a mask in public, transmission will be halted sooner and anyone infectious will have a hard time spreading the virus.

So's I'm scrolling through CNN headlines mostly serious stuff to do with the coronavirus.  And then one headline:

Man Allegedly Teaching His Dog To Drive Arrested After High Speed Chase

More serious news, then:

Scientist Gets Magnets Stuck in his Nose After Coronavirus Device Mishap

Both gave me a good laugh ...

Quote
“The things they had in there were crazy. They had things, levels of voting that if you’d ever agreed to it, you’d never have a Republican elected in this country again,” Trump said during an appearance on Fox & Friends. “They had things in there about election days and what you do and all sorts of clawbacks. They had things that were just totally crazy and had nothing to do with workers that lost their jobs and companies that we have to save.”

Can't have everybody voting or the GOP would never win again.

That pretty much sums it up, doesn't it. Obstructing the voters, keeping them away from the ballot box, is the only way the slimeballs can win.

Bet you're proud of that, too, Ward, huh?

More good innovation:
MIT Will Post Free Plans Online for an Emergency Ventilator That Can Be Built for $100

Basically taking the standard hand-pumped respiratory bag (Ambu bag) used until a respirator can be hooked up, and mechanizing the manual pump.
This could be a good emergency device if shortages hit.  Though it needs to work for a few weeks without missing a beat.

Great country full of great people. Piss poor and shitty imposter federal executive leadership, a problem to urgently fix in November.

As for the driving dog, the police chase ended after the guy went off road, through two ditches and rammed a building.  The human got out, ran into a Pentecostal church and hid in their bathroom.  When the police got him, he berated them for being "slow as fuck."  Then exonerated himself by claiming his dog was driving.
Unsurprisingly, this was in Florida.

Trump continues to be an endless embarrassment.

At least I put a little humor on Page 2020  ...

http://www.theweek.com/articles/904946/trumps-message-blue-states-battling-coronavirus-drop-dead

A lot of people are starting to recognize that the sick traits trump displayed blackmailing the Ukraine are now on full display domestically as the ill douche goes schoolyard bully & mob thug with whatever federal resources he can influence or control.

Trump is a tiny twisted nasty little man who has rallied the tiniest most twisted and vilest in the nation to worship around his blazing T of treason daily on the White House lawn.
